How much risk does LSU face for losing Maurice Hampton to next year's baseball draft?

I saw an interesting article on baseball america about his playing both sports.

I am wondering how much of a risk the baseball draft poses for this athlete? He seems to be very highly rated in baseball and that always sets off alarms for me.

I wouldn’t doubt that if in fact we take 7 DB’s, it’s b/c the coaches are more than slightly concerned that him heading to MLB is a real risk.

Nah we need the DBs. I think we’ll be ok with Hampton, he wants to come play football and baseball for us

If he comes I look forward watching him play baseball.
IMO that's wear he'll have the biggest impact, he's also a very good football player.

He is ranked the 36th overall player in high school baseball via perfect game. Not saying he will not go pro, but saying he is a lock to LSU could be a bit of a stretch too.

I have been looking forward to him coming to LSU ever since he committed.

I really hope he comes.

Hampton is coming to LSU. He wants to play both sports. If anything I believe the kid wants it in football more than anything, but is such a good baseball prospect that it's just be dumb to stop playing the game and maybe lose out on an MLB career one day if football proves to be too much. Which it won't. Hampton is going to be a great player as a safety here.
