keeping the Red Shirt on last seasons signees? With the depth and injury issues, coupled with the fact that they have to be some good looking prospects, it's got to be an extremely tough decision. ETA: This is not specific to the last few weeks. I'm referring to the decision in general over the course of the year with such a great class...and an underwhelming line

Players like:
Faulk
Ford
Big Sam
Logan
Davenport
Brockers
Calhoun

rightfully so, but earlier this season had to have been tough, especially on the lines

I think Les was still waiting to see how things would gel earlier in the year. He waited too long o mix up the line-up. Its too late for fresh blood now.

As much as you want to see them play, you have to wait another year.

At this point of the season, with one game & a bowl game, I think it would be a total waste. If we had decent coaching, we certainly could win with our other running backs...I am sorry, but man for man, we are so much better than Ark., but I know game day coaching will make you think otherwise...

What answer are you looking for? I really don't think he struggles with it at all- how would it benefit him to burn a redshirt at this point? Even Les probably made up his mind well over a month ago that no further redshirts would be burned. The only change would be if we had beat Bama & truly had a shot at SEC championship game...

You just don't know what to believe with Les- remember his assertion that this was his 'best line' since he has been at LSU. If he starts playing true freshman, kind of makes him looks dumb...

TO answer your question, given his propensity to play the 'veteran' over the new guys, I don't think he struggles with it that much. Injuries or not.

Out of that list, the only two I see as possible contributors is Brockers and Davenport. Montgomery still looks too small to be a Defensive end. Hard to imagine using Calhoun over Shepard. Ford wasn't a need until recently.

I'm pretty interested to see how Davenport turns out, nonetheless.

I'm sure if he saw a spot where he would significantly upgrade then he would've played any of those guys...but a redshirt for basically the same quality of play isn't worth it.

I was surprised to see his name on that list. Is he THAT good, or was he included more because of injuries?

That list of names is why I don't support firing Les Miles for at least two more years.

He's going through the talent slump brought on by the coaching change right now. If he doesn't have it together in 2 years, well there's no more excuse.

I don't care if he's a total tard of a game manager and just recruits enough talent to overcome it. A win is a win and a NC is an NC.
