Why do people think that just because the school is on campus this helps with getting the kid to come to LSU. If anything that would hurt because they probably want a change of scenery. The only way U high being on campus helps LSU is access and information to the player is easier.

imbarrassing for BR that Dunham and U-high play such low competition

Teams that U-High have beaten this year:

Mandeville
Catholic High
Zachary
Southern Lab

That's a damn strong schedule of non-district games.

UHigh skull drug the reigning 5A State Champ, Zachary, this year...FWIW

If you can’t look at the kids physicals and go next door to the OPS building and see what you need to see I’d say something strange is going on. He plays 50 yards from the LSU football building. Guy is a freak and a top 10 player. Make the offer and swallow your pride.

Well that is what recruiting is. It is 100% access and if we want a kid from Uhigh we should not have any problem signing them. Fact is neither of us were interested in each other. Moses is not an SEC cB and it sounds like he is now coming tho that realization. We do have the best player from that team currently committed for 2020 and honestly we have only lost one player from Uhigh that we absolutely wanted and that was Moses.

Yep. It is both. No film. No show. Having been to Uhigh and Dunham games. There is no real way to assess talent as Stingley for instance looks like a senior playing against 8th graders. I suppose there is a game or two that they play against some competition but not much.

When they come to camp, you also get to see their work ethic, personality, and how coachable they are. You can sign the #1 player, but you wont know if he is coachable or is a headcase unless you can sit down and get to know him.

Maybe so, but with the outright thuggery with some of the players we have signed (remember Dee Anderson in high school) its hard to imagine a situation where you completely pass and don't even offer or go after a kid this talented. Wish him the best at Bama (not really) and Geaux Tigers!!!!

Will not ever be a starter at LB for Saban.

ETA:

He will be a solid special teamer for Saban, but more importantly in Saban's eyes, another connection to UHigh pipeline. I think this is a play for kids next year.

I've got a feeling he switches to offense at some point. I think it's like us and Rosenthal/Hines. Let them start out on defense with the probability that they switch to offense sooner rather than later.

So people in this thread are telling me that every player LSU has offered under Coach O has been to the LSU camp?

Got it.

I thought this as well, but I think it's more in situations where the staff can't get a good evaluation based on film. I mean, we've offered national recruits as sophomores and you have to think they probably didn't camp at LSU.

That said, I think it's pretty obvious Harris didn't want to come to LSU regardless of what our interest was.

It’s mutual

They have Donte Starks higher on their board; they got Starks.

They like McCollum as the thumper; they got their man.

They let Harris easily choose the top program over the past decade over the local school.

They better be right.

Most kids who sign elsewhere out of Uhigh show very early in the process that they want a change of scenery. Or they don't meet a position of need for LSU.This list is no different. You don't offer every D1 kid out of the local school, just because.

Mikaya Tongue wanted to play offense. LSU wanted him on defense and couldn't guarantee playing time at WR.
Harris has been discussed ad nauseam. Didn't camp, showed little interest.
It's similar for the rest of the list. Show me a guy we missed on here at a position of need?

Uhigh kids get offers all the time, if they grade out at a need position. We have Brumfield and Brossette for example. Tim Williams didn't wan't to come here and went to Bama, where off-field issues don't matter. Our only miss is Dylan Moses and even he went to IMG as an upperclassman.

You act like these kids have an obligation to LSU (or vice versa) because they go to high school on campus. Sheesh

Sooooooooooooo you really think they are paying tuition at Uhigh LOL they really bought up the good players in North Baton Rouge. When you get them there for High School what else can you show them on a college visit. Some kids want to get away from the same old thang.

These kids grow up on LSU campus... why on earth would they want to stick around this campus for 3-4 more years.

Sucks but that is the damn reason they leave
