Showing my age, and maybe my fuzzy memory, but back in the day, about 1954-55, LSU and the Aggies were both after a RB named John David Crow. He disappeared the last week of recruiting. The Aggies had him hidden, so LSU could not engage. He signed with the Aggies, and won the Heisman for Bear Bryant.
Our backfield in 1957 would have been, Crow, Jimmy Taylor, and Cannon.

Not true at all. Crow was enrolled at LSU. Bryant kidnapped him from his dorm and brought him to A&M. No shite.
