Mine is Butch Davis flew to South Carolina to see Sam Montgomery when he was playing a basketball game his senior year

UNC plane play lands on very small run way/airport

Parked off to the left are 5 planes, LSU, Alabama, FSU, Tennessee and I think UGA, I can't remember exactly

Butch taps his pilot on the shoulder as he's getting off the plane gazing towards the 5 planes, "This is what big boy football looks like"

Butch shared about passing Saban and Miles on his way to the Gym...

A fat arse barber in a po dunk Louisiana town is getting financial compensation to lure players to his ex teammate. Regardless of who he coaches for. The home state people sit idly by and watch it happen repeatedly without outbidding or strong arming the guilty parties.
That's all I got.

Coach O rings the doorbell at the Chaisson residence in Houston EARLY in the morning, just to talk with him as he’s riding to the airport before another visit.

O tells him, “I didn’t come out here to meet you at 4AM just to have you sit on the bench.”

Reporter: “So Cecil, why would you commit to LSU when they already have Faulk and Mealey (among others).”

Collins: “Because I’m better than all of them.”

Thats a great one and he wasnt lying. Kid was a beast.
Theres lots of them and i wish one of these "insiders" from a national site would decide to blow it up and write a book with some stories. Ive been around a long time ,through a lot of classes, and ive heard some crazy stories particularly the ones involving what kids and their families/advisors get offered. Its nuts but not near the money,in chunk amounts, that many people assume.

Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz, Curly Hallman, and Ford or whoever was the coach at Arkansas, came to our house in a two week period in 91 to recruit my brother.

He chose LSU but said the Florida visit was the best. He ended up with a car, my parents got a van, and he had a job that summer burning Brush piles paying $20/ hour from a local farmer.

I know someone who was recruited by BYU. Lavell Edwards came down here and asked where the Gators were at. He thought they just ran around in people's yards like a dog.

Kyle Williams told me he went on a recruiting visit to Tennessee and Ruston High LB and former teammate Robert Peace was his host. So they go out and have a good time and knock a few back. Tennessee had a redneck country boy DL named Ogletree (sp?) from backwoods Mississippi.

So after they got good and sauced the guy from Mississippi asked Kyle who his finalists were and Kyle said I’m down to LSU, Tennessee and Nebraska. The guy looked at Kyle and said look you don’t want to come here boy and put up with all these dumbasses from the ghetto that Coach Fulmer recruits. Half of them don’t even want to practice and are punk thug bitches that even the coaches can’t control. Matter of fact I hate it here and wished I would have went somewhere like Nebraska, Iowa or Wisconsin just anywhere but this shite hole place. Needless to say Kyle ended up at LSU.

I asked Robert about the story years later and he said yeah when you take a recruit out and your star DL tells the recruit to go somewhere else I knew we would not land Kyle Williams because of his redneck comments and he busted out laughing.

Non-LSU related... I remember when Tommy Tuberville was at Texas Tech and he was out at dinner with a group of recruits and got a cell phone call. He excused himself from the group and took the call. He left the dinner and went and boarded a plane for Cincinnati and was announced as the new HC at Univ of Cinc. That was as bad a POS move as I had ever heard.

The one I'll always remember is Harvey Williams. He was committed to A&M and went to a very pro A&M high school.

While walking to his signing press conference his fellow students were singing the A&M fight song and doing Aggie cheers.

At that moment he realized he did not want to be an Aggie. Dressed in maroon and standing at the podium, he dropped the bomb that became one of the biggest signing day snubs on A&M, and signed with LSU.

A high profile Offensive Tackle who came from a broken home was being recruited by the likes of Nick Saban, Phil Fulmer, Tommy Tubberville, etc. It wasn't until Coach Ed Orgeron offered his younger, adopted Brother, S.J., a side-line pass, did he commit to the University of Mississippi.

I’m then you have kids like Barkevious Mingo who was dirt poor, never received any illegal benifits and was just excited for the opportunity. Never asked for anything. One of the best kid I’ve ever spent time with. That kid was pure and that is 100% true. Still the same to this day. I don’t know that as fact but I kinda do because he doesn’t have an immoral bone in his body.
