and could choose all the top players, about what would their national ranking be for that signing class?

There are 11 4*'s in Louisiana this year. Everyone else was a 3 star or under.

Around 15-20...but our needs wouldn't of been nearly as filled, so you might as well knock that down outside the Top 25.

Just a guess from looking at the other schools 5, 4, and 3* players.....Looks like we would have been in the teens. 15-19ish.

Good topic.
Burch or Munchie instead of Lee
Frankie Jackson instead of Ware
? instead of Gore
? for Worle
Gavin Webster for Sam Gibson
Trovon for Boone
? for Dickson
Dillon Day for Fordham
Alex Hill for Evan Washington
Brandon Jackson for Copeland
Ivan Robinson for Ego
Ashburn for Ken Adams
Seth Ancar for Maclin
? for Muncie
And there you go. Its a downgrade, IMO.

I would say even in this down year, probably still a pretty good class, but not top 10. Next year, I think they could stay in state and be top5.

And that's actually trying to fill needs vs. just taking the state's top 27 players like was suggested. It would knock us down even more (ranking wise) if we tried to fill needs with just LA players than just take the Top 27 players in LA.
For reference, here's the Top 27 ranked LA players this year by rivals and who they signed with...
QB
4* Terrance Broadway - Houston
3* Munchie Legaux - Cincinnati
3* Taylor Burch - Louisiana Tech
WR
4* Trovon Reed - Auburn
4* Curtis Carter - TCU
4* Jarrett Fobbs - LSU
4* James Wright - LSU
3* Glenn Coleman - Florida International
3* Armand Williams - LSU
3* Drew Dileo - Michigan
RB
3* Alfred Blue - LSU
TE
3* Nick Jacobs - LSU
OL
3* Luke Charpentier - Arkansas
3* Elliott Porter - LSU
DT
4* Ivan Robinson - Texas A&M
3* Risean Broussard - JUCO
DE
4* Jordan Allen - LSU
3* Walker Ashburn - Nebraska
3* Houston Bates - LSU
LB
NONE
CB
4* Ronnie Vinson - LSU
4* Tyrann Mathieu - LSU
3* RobDonovon Lewis - Memphis
3* Andre Hal - Vanderbilt
3* Karl Butler - Vandebilt
S
4* Eric Reid - LSU
4* Tharold Simon - LSU
3* Carvin Johnson - Michigan
We wouldn't of got any LB. Only 2 OL, 1 TE and 1 RB. Would of gotten 3 QB and 7 WR though

I think we all have to admit that Reid, Ward, Copeland, Allen and Boone are the jewels of this signing class right now and we would have missed some major talent had we only signed in state players this year.
Good job Les & LSU!!!
