The recruiting class ranking's are released later due to late additions and transfers, but this recruiting class ranks the current freshman class at LSU right now. LSU was ranked the 5th best recruiting class in the country for 2017-2018
1. Florida
2. Stanford
3. Bama
4. UCLA
5. LSU
This is a much bigger class than usual this year with 7 new faces
This class is highlighted by Christina Desiderio who was a senior international elite and former national team member. Desiderio is sure to be an immediate impact for LSU, as floor and beam are of all american quality. She is not expected to compete bars ever at LSU. LSU looks to use her on vault eventually, as she competed a 1 1/2 before and drained a double at the elite level. She is slowly making her way back into shape, but expect many national honors from this kid over the next 4 years.
Reagan Campbell was a former junior international elite and was one of the top level 10 gymnasts in the country. She is a beamer and is expected to make an immediate impact on this event this season. Campbell did not compete at all last year due to an injury. As she becomes more healthy, expect her to make major contributions in other areas, specifically floor and bars. Campbell is a name LSU fans will quickly member soon
Bridget Dean was a former elite and top level 10 gymnast. She was recruited by other major SEC schools but choose LSU. Dean was out the entire 2017 season due to injury. Dean is expected to compete for LSU this year, on bars and beam specifically. She does have the power and skills to be an impact on floor. She missed competition at 101 due to back spasms. Expect to see her thrown into the lineup throughout the 2018 season
Sami Durante was originally committed to Georgia but committed to LSU after her mom was fired as the head coach. Durante is most known for her bar skills as she has nice lines and clean form. Durante will play a pivotal role LSU's bars lineup this year. Routines from her this fall have been in the 9.9's.
Sarah Edwards was a late addition. She did not receive the best training. She is considered by the staff as a major steal. Extremely powerful on vault and floor. She quickly learned how to compete a 1 1/2 vault this fall, something she has never done before. Edwards is expected to be a mainstay in the vault lineup this season. Floor continues to be a work in progress but her power makes her extremely capable on this event. With better training and the addition of skills, she can be a major asset in other areas for LSU
Olivia Gunter and Gracen Standley were both added strictly for depth purposes. Standley comes from Lexi's gymnastics facility and received top training.
Let me know if yall have any questions!

Good job. Thanks for the info. Hate that two SEC teams ahead of us and didn't UCLA eliminate us last year.

The difference between LSU OU and Florida vs the rest of the pack is the development and coaching done by the programs. Its important to have talent but its even more important in how to train, develop, and mold it. UCLA and Bama don't do that very well.
UCLA? OU has beaten LSU the last two years, UCLA has made super six but lack difficulty and consistency to compete with any of the LSU, Flroida and OU programs
On paper UCLA is as talented as anyone. They have former olympians and other elites scattered on the roster but they are poorly coached and the ambition to win is not there at all.

Didn't we play them in softball in Oklahoma City? I think we won that game, but it might be my poor memory. UCLA was fourth in gymnastics.
