Morris has a lot of talent and I believe Bama has a good one in him. Not buying the Kiel/we don't have room stuff though.Saban was at Winston's game within a day or 2. Unless the coaches feel they have Winston locked up(which I have heard from good people;also heard from the same people since that he's all FSU;who knows) I don't buy it. If Winston is a flip then I can buy it but not otherwise. Not buying the "Winston is instate" argument either. It doesn't matter in the end,I just wanted to put my thoughts out there. Morris is a good one and I commend the Bama staff for sticking with him.

lsufanve- what do you think of Kiels and LSU chances? Is he just taking a free trip or his interest is legit?.

but, with all the great players that bama recruits are they going to start looking at some punters and kickers?

Wrong thread but we have 3 star kicker coming in next year that has a video of him kicking without a tee at 60+ FGs. I note the 3 star but kickers usually do not get high ratings and that is very high for a kicker. But who knows if he will pan out.

Better question: What's his max in the bench press?

He's already had a visit from krags. I'd say intrest is legit, but still put it at slim for now.

Please explain. Just asking what you mean because one highlight film I saw shows him strictly in Shotgun and running zone/read options.

I guess I ask because, until recently, our identity on offense has been the pro-style, under center, get the ball to your playmakers, punishing offense (which I love). I see this continuing next year with Mettenburger and Rivers.

Just wondering if Kiel fits this mode; it may not be that big of a deal to teach him to go under center (assuming his video is indicative of the offense he is used to running). I have faith in Kragthorpe.

Anyone?

What we do know now is... Coach Miles and Coach Krag as a team know how to teach QB's to manage the games to where they wont lose the game for us... If Krag would have been there to teach JJ and Lee their entire careers who knows how good they would have been.

Coach Miles likes mobile QB. Kiel shows some capabilites to move around the pocket and run if needed

No doubt both showed improvement under Kragthrope and this year's offensive approach.

Gotcha. Mobile is good. I like mobile...as defined as pocket awareness, ability to move around, step up, slide, avoid rush, etc. as long the QB's first thoughts/instincts is to throw the ball (either try to complete it or throw it away), combined with good footwork.

IMO, a QB's 40 time, quickness, running yards, vertical jump, etc. mean nothing compared to brains, decision making, vision/reads, awareness, accuracy, release, footwork. The occasional run after making the reads.

I guess I am hoping our future recruits (Kiel included) fall into that mold.

I tend to agree with Memphis and yamamma in that at this point our chances are slim but also agree the interest is real. He's doing his due dilligence vetting all the schools that are options. The thing that's strange with Kiel is that with all the hype around him and the plentiful reports about him visiting Vandy,I've seen very few mentions that he is visiting LSU. The ones I've seen have been regional reporters instead of national guys. The word when he first decommited was that LSU was in better shape than the public knew and the silence regarding he and LSU nationally kind of falls in that scheme. Maybe I'm looking at things to deeply. I do think that our offense will be the biggest concern to Gunnar and his dad. Can Miles and Krags convince them that we are open to throwing more and showcasing his skillset? If that answer is yes after Friday then we may just steal him.I have serious doubts but am hopeful

Well if liggins wants to come he better do it before kiel decides on lsu. ik chances are slim, but he would fit miles offensive style well. Will look for him at the game.
