This is one that will be a surprise all the way to his announcement. Notre Dame faithful think he is theirs, LSU faithful think they have him and even Vandy faithful think they have him.

Will be interesting but won't be upset if we fail to land him

I think it will be surprise for everyone - maybe even Kiel!

My gut tells me

Vandy/LSU/ND

in that order and that close... I think if he does meet with Miles next week Les will come back with a QB, and that would be good for Kiel and good for Tiger football...

This

The two things bringing LSU down is they got in the game late (but so did Vandy) and the distance away from his family. But as we all know, Les is the best at creating a family atmosphere at a college so he will always have that pull

unsure when notre dame fans ever believed he was theirs... so nothing has changed?

in general, most believe keil is looking for a reason not to come to ND...

Man this recruitment has taken so many turns in the past few weeks. I didn't believe we even had a shot with him until recently. Now it appears we have a pretty legitimate chance at landing him. Since I never thought we had a chance, I won't really be that upset if we miss on him. But as always..

one of the factors is distance and apparently Vandy is as close as ND from his home town plus he is big into education and the program he wants to major in is only available at Vandy

Kiel told some of the guys at ND, that he didn't want the pressure of these bigger programs. Thats why the speculation of Vandy....

Vandy would be a good fit for him if that's what he want.

Would he be the biggest recruit in Vandy history?

If the bigger programs cut off is around 20 years, the speculation should also include ND along with Vandy

Meh, regardless of the limited success on the field for ND, there's still a ton of pressure on them. Going to take a lot more losing for that to subside.

Les should have worked in footage of our defense destroying Jay Cutler and then Cutler's parents crying about it in the stands, when Keil came for a visit. lol.

I haven't given up. This COULD be how it is playing out.

ND out Vandy the front runner in his mind due to the pressure issue. Visits LSU and likes what he hears about how the player love the heck out of les miles and sees the pressure might not be there from the coaches.

Takes visit with parents after the Arkansas game because it turned out to be more than just a free paid vacation. Big time games and programs openned his eyes to the rewards of playing for championships instead of losing every other weekend.

Miles meets with them soon and seals the deal. Not a prediction just a hope that I am still holding on too.

Questions though. Masters degree in the equation. What is he wanting to major in? Maybe undergraduate work in close field at LSU and then Masters from Vandy.

Is the USC visit because he had a change of heart and is now open or even inviting of playing with the big boys.

Fingers crossed.

I see less pressure for a QB in a Les Miles offense at LSU than in a Brian Kelly offense at Notre Dame. At LSU, Les Miles would surround him with some of the nation's best athletes and linemen. He would rely on the RB's to do most of the work and all he has to do is throw it here and there to keep the defense honest and not turn the ball over. If he throws for 300 yards at LSU, that's just icing on the cake. At Notre Dame, he could throw for 350 yards and 4 TD's and still lose the game. At Vandy, there is no pressure because they'll just expect to lose.

I think he counts ND as being too much pressure. In Vandy, I think he sees a good coach who's turning the program around, beautiful area, close to home, great education, in the SEC, and not as much pressure. Sounds great, but the great ones also have that championship bug in the pit of their stomachs. And you're right less pressure here than at ND. Wouldn't have to be the whole offense. He'd get to run a pro-style offense with a great QB coach, great RBs, WRs, OL. I hope he realizes that the pressure he puts on himself will always be the one that gets to you the most and if you want to make it to the NFL, you need to put that pressure on yourself. But it's his decision and you really can't go wrong when you're choosing between championships or amazing education.
