Why not Vandy then? I just think don't think that they would cheer for a team that they had no stake in unless they were supporting Kiel's choice.
No Vandy because he has already narrowed it to ND and LSU, at least according to some ND boards. And of those 2, the students would rather us because they hate ND.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Kiel passed for 2,517 yards and 28 touchdowns as a senior and rushed for 482 yards and 11 TDs.
How hard was the competition he played against?

Couldn't be too hard. Indiana doesn't quite produce elite talent.

Who knows? But if Kragthorpe wants him as bad as it seems like he does, he must think he has all of the tools to be a good D1 QB.

This is why I am wondering. He must have unbelievable intangibles, because his stats are not blowing me away. Frankly, alfords stats are WAY better.

Stats are pretty useless for HS prospects IMO. You see guys who aren't going to make D1 rosters put up huge stats and guys like Avery have nothing. You just have to look at their mechanics and size. Kiel is a prototypically sized QB. He has great vision and a laser on the ball. His passes are beautiful. With a QB coach like Kragthorpe, he could be heisman worthy IMO. With the LSU talent around him, he could have some monster years.

I'm enjoying the comments more than the info

Absolutely agree. Krags is totally the key to this deal.

Columbus East students were chanting "LSU" at Gunner Kiel tonight at basketball game as he accepted Indiana Mr. Football trophy.

Having a guy like Krags is just such a breath of fresh air. It was so frustrating to watch Jefferson have no progress while under Crowton.

And just like that - we're 1 game away from having zero QBs who were ever coached by Crowton...
