Gunnell's recruitment and links to other recruits

Take it all with a grain of salt because Speigs probably paints a more pro-LSU picture than most:

In an interview with SEC Country, Gunnell indicated that Orgeron and Ensminger together are pushing the hardest, but in a good way.
The LSU staff has put itself in a good position with the 2019 U.S. Army All-American with its approach. Those in Gunnell’s inner circle are favoring LSU, for the moment, and have distinguished themselves from the pack with their recruiting style.
Of the schools in Gunnell’s top 3, there may be more connections with LSU worth noting. Last week, top 100 wide receiver Jalen Curry visited Baton Rouge for spring practice. Sources on the team side believe they have put themselves in a very good position for his commitment after an impactful visit, his third in as many months. Additionally, Gunnell has a close relationship with elite running back Noah Cain, who took in LSU’s spring practice session on Tuesday. Cain has expressed an interest in playing alongside Gunnell at the next level.
Kardell Thomas, LSU’s highest-rated 2019 commitment, has been working Gunnell as well. His reaffirmed position with the Tigers is a major selling point for Gunnell and perhaps the offensive line that’ll be protecting him down the road. As does LSU’s stance with a number of elite prospects across the country such as Derek Stingley Jr. and Chris Steele.
Gunnell is expected to make his way back to Baton Rouge in the next few weeks as the Tigers continue spring practice. He is also expected to be in Tiger Stadium on April 21 for the annual spring game. His attention will be on the new offense and Ensminger’s touch on the passing game.

If we can get this guy i believe the domino's start falling our way. Already sounds like the other players like him.

From the other thread, Gunnell seems to think that Curry is going to Ohio St.
So they're in this too, if the rumor about them being a package deal is true. Cain, also interested in Ohio St.
It's probably really important that the offense be ahead of schedule by this point.

You have to wonder if Curry and Gunnell are playing games with the media. Curry says Gunnell is going to LSU and Gunnell says Curry is going to Ohio St. Then you hear "package deal".
Bottom line. Never take anything for granted and always have a back up plan.

Cain is on his second visit to LSU in three days.

That's good.
People get tunnel vision when it comes to recruits though. Class prediction threads have pretty much every highly rated recruit committing to LSU and that's not realistic.
Just don't want to see people lambaste kids for making certain decisions allegedly without notice when evidence is out that they're seriously considering other schools too.
I can see Ohio St is a serious contender for those three, Gunnell, Cain and Curry.

Thomas, Cain, and Davis seem to have strong ties. Would like to see LSU land those 3 along with Grant and Curry.

Jeeeeesus Kardell is a freak. His upper torso looks like a comic character next to Tyrion and Noah and those aren’t small men.

We hear this every year about players wanting to play with each other. It happens 5% of the time?

Gunnell’s recruitment is going to be long. LSU has to prove they’re going to throw the ball effectively. All the inroads with E are great but he will need proof to see he can thrive here.

Supposed to be deciding before the fall, so really not a lot of time. The spring game is going to be huge.
