you have to admit a little bit, he was all-world 5*, and only caught 11..

i'll admit he played QB his entire senior year, had to readjust to playing WR with a horrible WR coach and was stacked behind better talent.

I was looking at LSU," Metoyer said. "But they had the No. 1 receiver last year (Rueben Randle) and he only caught 11 balls the whole season. I don't know if he was overrated, but 11 passes, I need that in one game."

translation- "damn if RR only caught 11 balls then i wouldnt sniff the field"

Remember that Tolliver only had 16 as a freshman and Lafell was a redshirt (and both of them had a better qb)

Negative recruiting at it's finest ladies & gentlemen.
This information was certainly volunteered to this kid. These kids will be told and shown everything to get their signature. Millions of dollars and a plush lifestyle for a lot of people are at stake. To be honest, our fans, especially on some of these sites, certainly do not make it any easier for our coaching staff to recruit.

I can guarantee you that a lot of these comments has to do with the fact that we weren't ready to accept his commitment. He wanted to go to LSU(I know this from people in his family)but we wouldn't accept him at the point he wanted to commit.IMO he's just got sour grapes.

The buzzword is "need."

"I'd like to try to get 11 per game." Would have made all the difference.

Again, the word "need" is bad when talking about 11 catches.

Not sure this guy could hold a candle to Reuben Randle either.

Really? Nobody else sees the problem with that? Yeah, he had a couple of really good players in front of him, who also didn't do too much. Am I the only LSU fan that was disappointed in 11 receptions for Randle all year?

Randle was a freshman behind some good wr,s. He'll get his time. The SEC is tough for any freshman.

You see Julio Jones and AJ Green light it up as frosh's and you expect your Frosh star to do it too.

But sometimes it just don't happen that way.

if he wanted to come here and we didn't take him then its poor judgment (once again) on the staffs part. texas guys commit very early and you have to be ready for them. now that slyve committed elsewhere, it looks like another mistake on our part.

How so? Perhaps they wanted to see him camp before hand... MANY coaches do that. Saban and Meyer do it.

my main point is that he is from Texas and you have to be ready for those guys. you can't slow play them. Oklahoma is an elite program and they took him off of his film.

metoyer is probably as good as at least 5 current LSU commits.
