According to Rivals, Scout and ESPN, he didn't have any offers. 247 has no profile for him.

Moot point.

Maybe he can have an impact at wide receiver or safety but looks to best suited for halfback.
No offense, but I seriously doubt he can make an impact anywhere.

He could be a Daniel graff type of player for LSU, which is about the best he can hope for.

I you bleed purple and gold and have a chance to be a walk on, why not do it? I know I would.

Yeah, it shows they were looking at him, but it doesn't look like he had offers from them. If that's the case, and you're going to stay in Louisiana, why not go to LSU. I'm sure walk-on at LSU is better than being a walk on at Tulane or Rice. It's cheaper at least and then he has LSU connections from the football staff to get a cushy job later. Why not?

I'm a family friend, Jon is one of the hardest workers I've seen,
He had aspiration to play in the SEC and I believe he has the tools to contribute at some point.
He had two high ankle sprains and missed 6 games of his senior year which hurt his recruiting

If he had no other offers, then it's not a bad move. My comments were based on if he had D1 offers.

I've just known several walk-ons over the years and it's very tough.

Yeah, it's totally different if he had offers. Especially from places like SMU and Rice. Those are expensive schools if you're not on scholarship.

I've only known one guy, and he was pretty much a punching bag for the offense. But he did meet a lot of people and make good connections and can say he was on the team. And he enjoyed it.

Doesn't have to play in backfield to contribute. Fly down the field on kicks and make your mark young man....
