is he lee fobbs son?

jimmyd...that was uncalled for bro...easy
...but anyways...fobbs was probably told he could play lots of positions for LSU
"if we let you try out at WR,, would you also consider other positions in order to play earlier?" yes sir!
there you go
We will no let an All America (Boone) go, over trying to land Fobbs..no way that happens

If this were the case then IMO this is bad news. It would likely mean no Kad Boome. Boome=M.Davis. A much better prospect IMO. I know a lot about this kid and his future is bright. Has all the tools to step in day 1. We want Boome. Fobbs is a backup plan. Always has been always will be. He is a good player just not Boome. Lets go Boome Lets geaux Boome.
You can't spell, and you don't know what you're talking about. They've been recruiting Fobbs hard at WR going back to when they saw him at the LSU team camp in July.

Yet you still couldn't manage to spell the kid's name correctly just one fricking time.
I know how to spell the kids name moron. Boom Boome get it quarter tards. I had a prior post making this reference. We didn't want Fobbs as a WR. Boone is a better prospect. Don't believe me watch the tape. For those of you that don't know what talent looks like read what the experts say.

But he won't...that's why he initially wasn't interested in us.
After a year or so, these guys will generally move to where ever they believe their best chance of playing in the NFL is.

Is Boone going to LSU? i think it's unlikely if we have a bunch of WRs from LA next year....but what do I know?

Here is the deal guys. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
If we take 4 wide receivers this year, then you have to worry about what the ramifications will be next year on recruiting wide receivers (Landry, Sylve) because when they look at the depth chart they will see so many young receivers to compete with.
This is some of Les Miles problem in that we bring in so many skill players it is hard to find playing time for all of them.

i get what you're saying, but nonetheless I'd always rather have too much talent than not enough talent.
What's the saying about the bird in hand?

Sorry about freakin out it just frustrates me how people don't use logic when forming their opinions. Fobbs is 5-10. Only has decent speed and wants to play WR. All are very good reasons as to how this wouldn't make sense. The idea of telling him he will get looks at other positions is reasonable. Its just the fact that he turned down LSU because of this. The sale would have to be about playing at home more than playing time at wr. I don't really care as long as we get BOOME.

I guess Texas is really screwed, since last time I checked they had 6-7 WR's committed. So we should be able to pick up something over there next year.......

Fobbs is a slot or DB guy. Boone is a WR. One should not have anything to do with the other.

Learn something new everyday. I always thought the slot was a WR. God.. i am such an idiot.

I really really would love to see Fobbs opposite Claiborne or such at corner, great hips and quickness... I think he's being too closed minded and would be a lot better of a corner than an offensive threat in college... In fact if he really excelled and concentrated there, I think he could be a SEC stud caliber
