CFL isn't American football. It's a different sport that shares many rules. Rugby is a distant cousin to both. Being a CFL pro should t count if being an NFL preseason pro doesn't. We allow fully professional baseball players to return and play football as if they weren't somehow didn't benefit from being a pro athlete in another major sport. It's all just mental gymnastics.
