Why did the coach go for two in the end down 3 points?

Same reason he jumped on the field to negate a long gain that would have put them in 3 and 1-2 and instead putting them in 3 and 16 late in the game

and same reason he faked a punt late in the game on his own 30-35.

I felt bad for the De Soto guys last night. It seems their coach wasn't much of a "gamer."

Coaching in High School is big, a staff many times can get more wins out of a season.

he didn't call the play, the snap was bad and they called fire which is what happens when there is a bad snap on a field goal or xp

I wondered if that was the case but it sure didn't look like it on TV. The punter did one of those "whoops, it's over my head moves."

Can we get a wrapup on Washington's performance? Sounds on here like he got a couple of illegal blocks in.

The kicker wasn't on the field. It was someone else back there which made the other team's coaches know it was a fake.

he played left tackle, and he is a big guy who looked pretty nimble on his feet... Luginbill mentioned that this is only his second season playing organized football (he is also the center on the HS basketball team), but the LSU coaches love his potential... he got away with holding a couple times when he got beat by Cedar Hill's defensive end a few times. Also DeSoto had him doing a few chop blocks in the game. But overall, he should be a good one at LSU with his potential and with Miles molding and coaching him.

I watched Evan Washington play and I was disappointed. Washington is VERY SLOW getting off the ball and I did not see the quick feet. Clearly this kid is a project that will take two to three years to develop. Now, the right tackle is a stud and just a junior.

Yea Marcus Hutchinson should be a good one. Washington is raw but he has some upside he's only been playing football for 2 years.

I'm certainly not a talent evaluator but I do watch a lot of football.

I would say Washington is definately raw but I think Miles and Coach Stud (with a redshirt year thrown in) can make him a good one. One thing that impressed me is that he didn't seem nearly as stiff as the other linemen. He seemed to move pretty freely and fluidly for such a big guy.

That natural ability can't be taught while technique can be.

This is a plus.
