. Crutchfield is handling his recruitment
Is there some kind of verification of this? The other day I saw someone on here say the coach was scheduling his camps. That's a fairly big leap to handling his entire recruitment.
quote:
That means, you have to go through him to get to the kid. He's scheduling his camps, his visits, and probably the daily Skype conversations with Saban. It's real easy to lose a piece of mail or forget about a phone call
Does he have the kids cell phone? His parents cell phone? Facebook, twitter, email? Even if the entire recruitment is going thru the coach, its not nearly as easy to shut everyone else out as it was 10-20 years ago.

No, I think we're appropriately assessing the uphill climb we've got ahead of us.
Or maybe you are just over exaggerating who steep that hill is.
*Forgive me for shitty on this thread and if that's too negative and angry of a suggestion

* just a joke, but i couldn't resist.

Just leave it alone. Bama likes to come in and turn people against a hometown recruit. Its their strategy, makes em want to leave. Let Frank and Les deal with it, the whoopla just makes them want to change the scenery. Don't play into their hands. They divide and conquer. They look for kids with poor family structure, or anything they can to lure them away.Bling.Bling! Nothing we can do but be supportive...unfortunately. LSU won't hurt for RB's...

Chances this guy woulda been shitting on the notion that LC's gf would play much of a role in his decision last yr?

So let me get this straight. Anonymous posters on the message board will help steer this kid to bama but not the coaches on his team, one of which is the stepdad of an Alabama player, another that handled spurning LSU and handing Davis to Texas, and crutchfield?

What about my posts are me acting paranoid

I would normally agree with you but considering where they stand with the other top running back in their backyard, nothing would surprise me.
I mean come on, its a little paranoid to think The #4 player and #1 RB, who has stated he wants to play RB is just going to get switched to LB and go along with it because his coach and Nick Saban told him so.
quote:
The fact they're basically leading at this point should tell us all we need to know about how this is shaping up for us and them. It's not good.
Wasn't Freak Johnson committed to Tennessee at one point? Its a long way to go until signing day 2014. I won't dispute that he has very influential people in his ear favoring Bama and that they may be "leading" for him at this point. But there is plenty in LSU's favor as well, most importantly a more favorable depth chart at his current and apparently preferred position. No matter how crooked his coach may be, I have a hard time believing they would screw the kid over, just to get him to Bama or away from LSU.

That was secondary. I'm not paranoid about what position he could play at Alabama. I really don't give a shite about that, it was just an aside because there was talk of Saban wanting him at LB and having crutchfield work him there.

Yeah because of Frank Wilson. We got Frank. We got Freak. I'm not sure this is that situation.

Ok, I'm sure there are plenty of other examples of guys some school was leading for, that wound up somewhere else. Besides, maybe Burns won't be at Bama a year and a half from now.
Right after the BCS C Debacle, everyone thought Diarse was a "gone pecan" and a few month's later, he's not only committed to LSU, he's the biggest pro LSU "recruiter" recruit in our class.

I dont know about Holmes..
But Crutch isn't steering him one way or another even with Sylve being at Bama..
Everyone is disregarding the relationship Frank has with Crutch...
And I expect LF to be at LSU when its all said and done

It's not Burns or any coach at any teams that worries me. It's the coaches on his actual team that worry me. they aren't going anywhere.

I hope you're right. I really do. I'm just not optimistic right now. He may not steer him there but he'll sure as hell pick up and drive him to Bama whenever he wants.

Let's not worry about Fournette so much. Let's just go get Robinson, Hootie, Paris, and others and we will let LF make the decision. He will see our talent and hopefully makes the right choice. I'm sure he had to notice Boutte this weekend, maybe.

All we can do.

Well I think Burns is the much bigger threat, especially considering the success they've had with Ingram and Richardson. But its not nearly as much fun to think we could lose out on a great La prospect to Alabama on merits or anything, it must be something dirty.
I know "conspiracies" are fun, but these guys are now coaching at a fairly prestigious HS. I would think they will be much more concerned with winning games for St Aug then steering a kid away from LSU, which is not to say they won't promote Bama or Texas or anywhere but LSU, but I would think their primary concern is winning games for St Aug.

Its understandable that you are concerned, but I keep coming back to the depth chart. Bama will be loaded at RB, LSU looks much more favorable at this point.

You post this like I'm on this board all day long crying about wrongdoing on the part of instate recruits that don't come here. Don't lump me in with others. This situation just is atypical and has irritated me. So you can expect to continue to see me post about it.
