It's really not that difficult to understand. They have an opportunity to go play for one of college football's greatest coaches to ever walk a sideline. It 50 years they will still be talking about Saban's run.
Spit or swallow? My guess is swallow.

Responding to the original question of this thread, yes. I say this, knowing the chances are remote. But I recall that famous cliche about nothing being official until the recruit signs his name on the dotted line and sends the scholarship to the college he has chosen.
This is recruiting. Anything can happen:).

LSU could never get away with the crap Alabama is doing. Their cheating is way beyond anything LSU does. If LSU WERE doing what Alabama is doing, they'd be winning the recruiting war with Bama now and then. Yahoo Sports did a very in-depth and well-documented story just a few years ago about what Alabama is doing in football recruiting. If that had been LSU, no way we would have gotten a pass from the SEC and NCAA like Alabama apparently has. And the simple reason is that LSU just doesn't have the pull with the SEC or NCAA that Alabama has.
All true dat. They are the illuminati/mafiaoso of CFB. Born criminals.
As far as the state of Alabama...explode a neutron bomb to radiate the cesspool of soil that it is. Give the subhuman neanderthals in that place 72 hours to evacuate. If they don't.. frick'em.

Sorry, but you are delusional my friend (or a closet Bama fan, perhaps). There is NO WAY that LSU does what Alabama does or to that extent. LSU would have been sanctioned long ago for it.
The Truth!!!!

Bama/ The REC is the same as the Clintons in politics or John Gotti ---- however, they will get caught .........eventually.

That is the problem. They need to be run out of town. Seriously. If the roles were reversed do you think bama would put up with this shite on their own CAMPUS? Hell no.
Saban has the REC paying them under the table and they probably have blackmail on them. That is how it works. You want to dream? Imagine if Huey was alive today and ran the state. There would be a lot of dead bodies sunk to the bottom of the bayou right now.
As far as reality today...we need to start a Louisiana Militia and get medieval. Lie, cheat steal.... fight fire with fire!!!

I hate us sometimes. What about Jacoby Stevens? We won that recruiting war. What about LF7? Won that one.
We win some and we lose some. LSU is LSU's worst enemy, not the boogie man in Tuscaloosa. It's time we nut up and admit it. Stop giving him credit when and where he doesn't deserve it. And we sound pathetic when we constantly use all of these excuses about them cheating. If they were cheating as bad as some of you claim, I'm sure SOME team from the conference would have turned them in AND some coach would have made sure a reporter had enough info to force the NCAA hand by going public. I'm sure they skirt the rules, but we've got to man up fellas.

I don't think they cheat more. However, just like everything else Nick Saban touches, they seem to do it better and more efficiently than anyone else.
As for Chris Allen, if you read his interview comments from UA practices, there is still some level of opportunity there. He seems to have backpeddled on his previous comments about riding the bench at Bama, because he sounded somewhat intrigued at the possibility of early playing time. He may just be trolling or building drama, but who knows. Considering how badly we need ILBs, no harm in going all in on one last push.

To be fair most of the Ohio St. Players are usually in the Army-All American game.. So those numbers are a little skewed.

The Gumps claim there were higher players on those board than Stevens and as for Fournette he was a "luxury" and didn't REALLY want him "because they had Henry".

Explains why Saban was stuck up his arse all the way up until dead period right??

I've not seen that. It's clear they wanted him and I bet most of their fans who follow recruiting would admit that they would take him in a second. They need safeties.

Haven't seen that either, but I mean, its not like they missed a beat at the position. They had a guy win the Heisman at the same spot. LF was a NEED for us. Landing him was vital and huge. They wanted him badly, but if I'm being honest looking back, I can't say they "needed" him like we did.

I didn't say that they didn't want him. Chattabama or Tide Taint said Bama was recruiting Fournette more to hurt LSU than to strengthen Bama.
As for as Stevens, one of the Gumps said Gibbs and McKinney are higher priority on the board than Stevens.

Stevens was a bama priority. Saban Skyped with Stevens every Wednesday for months, but he couldn't flip him. Now that bama missed on Stevens, they are claiming he wasn't a priority. It's a lie. Orgeron, thomas, and raymond beat saban on this one.

Louisiana ties helped with Stevens.

I agree let him go and move on! If a kid is wavering and doesn't want to don the Tiger uniform let him go and focus attention to other skilled kids that wants to be a Tiger or open to being a Tiger... No Flip Floppers wanted especially if you are willing to ride the pine at BAMA, insteady of wanting to square of against them and smash-em in the mouth.

No but LSU put alot of eggs in a few select players and not think about positional players that are just as good and we should cast a wider net. Look at the standard being Bama, they recruit aton of 5 and 4 stars. They don't worry if they may offend a kid, the recruit to breed competition. They don't box themselves in. The offfer and they choose which players to turn the heat up on. We have not recruited like that. We offer 2 or 3 guys and put our faith in there hands, and scramble for other players we have further down the board which is almost a slap in the face to some kids. IMO

I understand we need ILB but we put ourselves in investing so much into this player(Allen) instead of offering other ILB. No I wouldn't invest anymore time into this guy, learn from this and move on. We need to breed competition at LSU we miss this point on this board because we get emotional after a LA kid choose Bama.
