You don't see a problem with paid recruiting services allowing one coach to evaluate players for them?

Isn’t 247 run by a bama grad?

lmfao you provide facts along with a source and youre still downvoted. These people truly have the smoothest of brains. It's legitimately mindboggling how dumb people are on here.
Just wait till later this month when the the unrated Walter Bob kid gets ranked on 247. Going to be a massive meltdown about Bama bump on here no doubt

No

I like Jones better.
247 also moved Alfono above Stingley, so I take their "evaluations" with a grain of salt. Just my 2 cents.

you guys are legitimately fricking morons if you actually believe that 247 has a secret vendetta against LSU.
I believe most people who complain just think they give Bama players a bump, not that they have it against LSU. Doesn't matter who the kid decommits from before picking Bama, they don't discriminate.
And I agree it is overblown.
This kid is a stud. He's got NFL 1st round written all over him if he gets his strength up.

This year more than any other year are pretty suspect due to the lack of play lol

I will never say he's better than Stingley, but Alfonso was a fricking MONSTER in high school and at the UA all-star game. Destroyed other elite prospects. Turned out to be a head case.

In 6 months he moved up 48 spots, after committing to bama he moved up 133 spots in 2 months.
Committed to LSU 8 spots a month.
Committed to Bama 66 spots a month

Not every evaluation is always perfect, but Alfano flunked out because he was an idiot basically, not really anything to do with football field stuff.
Also I think Stingley was their highest rated CB ever, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong there.
Keep in mind they rank their Top 247 based on where they think they ultimately get drafted at as that's how the eval themselves on how they did. So having a CB go #2 in the draft would basically be unheard of (they had him #2 overall). In the last 25 years a DB hasn't been drafted #1 or #2 overall.

Are you talking about Koht? If so, you're wrong as I already explained this on the last page. His big late jump up on 247 came weeks before he flipped. You're likely looking at the composite, not the 247 rankings.

That looks like the composite, not their own rankings. For example they have Stingley tied with Hargreaves there but you can see Hargraves was #4 overall in his class, Stingley was #2 (247's rankings). So Stingley was ranked higher than him in his respective class.

Yeah. I understand that. I think it's dumb considering that these are college prospects, not NFL prospects. That was their excuse at the time too. The recruiting sites get things pretty close for the most part, but one would have to be blind not to see the obvious Bama bias that exists.
I'm not saying that Bama doesn't pull in one of the best classes every year. That much is obvious considering their successes on the field. Do they really have the #1 class every freaking year. Are their classes really 20 points better than #2? I don't think so.

I've championed this for years on 247 that they shouldnt be comparing themselves to where a guy gets drafted vs. high school rating, but it's an easy cop out for them to be "objective".
The alternative would be they re-rank players after they leave based on college performance which could get highly subjective unless they came up with a formula to be objective about it for every position. Easier to do for the "stat" positions like skill guys and defensive players but what about Oline guys? Eh, not sure there.
I get why they compare their rankings with NFL draft because simply put it's easiest but it really doesnt make a ton of sense...just saves them a ton of time and likely more anguish from the posters over there. Can you imagine them re-ranking classes after they leave based on their opinion how upset so many forums would get their player "is only here and should be here"

Exactly

Koht was climbing before he flipped lol. For the gazillionth time, 247 is not out to get us. **LITERALLY** every single fanbase thinks 247 is out to get them.
247 isn’t out to get anyone. People used to feel that way about Rivals, but even that was a while ago. But 247 DOES have a Bama blind spot. They bump every Bama player, pretty much no matter what. They don’t all work out, as we’ve seen with Ish Sopsher and others. Koht isn’t a good example, because he was a player on the rise before flipping, but that doesn’t negate Bama bump. Hell, 247’s own analysts freely admit to it.

Koht is a special pass rusher. I wish he’d signed with the good guys
