so are you saying that LSU has evaluated not only guys like dillon and chatman (an not offered) but all la. prospects. further, are you saying that since we have evaluated all la. prospects then the ones that have no offer are lower on the board than oos guys. thus, if big time programs offer la. prospcets (who have no LSU offer) then LSU will let them go just as they are doing with capers-smith.
No. I'm saying you should stop being such a pussy every time a kid we don't offer in state takes an offer out of state.

And there is no evidence that a package deal is even on the table.
how often do so-called "package deals" actually play out? seemed like clemson offered all of nkemdiche's friends to get him, only to see him head to ole miss. and i know that there's the notion that bama signing simms helped with cam robinson, but i think he would've made the decision to go to bama with or without simms on board.
i don't know that "package deals" are a total myth, but it just seems that they're not as real as they appear on the message boards.

package deals always work out for aTm, that's why they got speedy noil, gerald willis, malachi dupre and kenny young.

I really hope this isn't Cam Sims part 2.

I don't know why people are dismissing Capers because this kid is a legitimate SEC recruit. LSU missed out on him and this will be a big miss. HOPefully we can turn him before he signs on the dotted line.

I think that the coach's "boards" are not always clear at this stage of the process. I'm sure some positions are clear as far as who they want to offer. Other positions might be a little less clear. If you have a position with very few clear cut prospects and a bunch of recruits with question marks, offers might take a little longer to come out. These kids are still developing with a full year of camps, games, and practices to participate in so I don't mind the prudence of the staff.
I think the main reason people get bent out of shape about losing LA recruits to other SEC schools is because they can't stand the teasing from other fans.

This isn't a big deal at all. We are not and never were gonna offer Capers Smith. Hes a CB in college and to those who haven't noticed, our CB board is pretty stacked with the #1 CB in the nation committed, the #1 instate CB was and will be again committed and we are right at the top for another FL CB who isn't that far off from Toliver. Not to mention there are a couple of better CBs in the state alone(Henry Black, Derrick Dillon, on our board). We also elected to offer a 5'8 CB from AL over him and a kid from Texas that has no other offers of note over him. Tells me DCS is very low on our board.
As for Dillon, he wants to play offense, which means wr, and has no film as a wr. We aren't offering instate wrs that have a couple of years of wr film so why would we offer a kid with none? He doesn't want to play CB and everything points to that being where he is slotted on our board. Even at CB he is lower on the board than most think. He will get offered I'm sure but his position, especially offensively, will have to be shown during camp. I want to offer the kid as much as anyone but I'd bet good money that most, if not all ,of his major offers are contingent on him camping especially as a wr. TAMs offer is as an athlete at this point

We are a long ways from offering the kid much less trying to turn him. It's a great offer for the kid and he was wise to jump on it. I doubt he could be any worse than Noel Ellis.

Hence my accurate observation above.
We will have to whiff on a number of DB prospects before we worry about offering this kid, much less flipping him.
Like I said, he will do well at A&M and made a solid choice given his current limited options.

So when we do flip him, in what position are we going to put a tiny guy with linemen speed?

Sounds like a kicker to me.

bullshite. The kid does not fit what we want in our CBs at all.

Coach Raymond, please share what we want in our CB's now that we got you here, then show us the video of Capers-Smith playing CB to show us why he doesn't fit.
I was just repeating what a Staff member told me that day, fwiw, but I bet they're surprised with DCS's time...

What current CB on our roster is similar to Capers-Smith in terms of measurables?
He's a project at best. He wasn't offered because we have better options on our board. A&M is trying to build a stronger pipeline in New Orleans, while trying to secure two other prospects from his school.
If Capers-Smith was from Lafayette Louisiana, he wouldn't have an offer from A&M.

He supposedly ran an even slower time last year.

Just look at what DB's we're offering. Tall, long armed, athletic, and physical corners. DCS doesn't fit that description at all. The price is wrong, compadre.
