How many times does this have to be said.

THE SCHOOLS ARE NOT THE ONES PAYING THE NIL DEALS

The schools aren’t even supposed to be the ones facilitating it even tho we all know they are.

Why does everyone know how much Brian Kelly makes?

Because he works for a public institution. People were guess at ND because that info was private.

NIL deals do not involve the schools (wink/wink). So they are not subject to the rules that govern working for a state owned institution.

If it’s socialism then how come we get to know what every coaches salary is and all NFL players?

Yeah and every private citizen should also have to make their income public! Let’s do it!

It’s pretty ridiculous seeing people overreact and not acknowledging what they’re actually saying.

Well for starters we don’t know every coaches salary. We know the salary they receive from public institutions. We don’t know the salary of private school coaches. We also don’t know how much Canes paid O.

It's actually a good idea. And failure to report an endorsement results in fines or forfeiting a percentage of the earnings.

Something else that may help, a kid cant sign NIL deal until they lose red shirt, become a true Sophomore, each team should have a cap price, make em think about what early playing time can mean, and yea i get it, there will still be sneaky colleges that will pay em anyway, but something will have to be tweaked

Damn i didn't realize people on here hated the free market so much

While I don’t agree with the OP’s ask, hiding information about income has nothing to do with “free market.” In fact, it’s anti-competitive, which is the literal opposite of free-market competition.

Why talk shite about something that you obviously don’t even have a basic understanding of?

Maybe there needs to be an NIL oversight committee that has the authority to deny/void an NIL contract. All NIL deals must be submitted to them. Biggest issue is that that organization would get corrupted in a heartbeat.

Maybe we could call it something like “compliance,” which every athletic department has had for DECADES.

NIL deals are not state-funded. State employees don’t have to publicly disclose all sources of income (though they may have to disclose to their employer to ensure no conflicts of interest, this isn’t necessarily releasable to public)
