Sorry, Traylor, but I must vehemently disagree.

Let's not be desperate. We sound like A&M fans the day before Loston's announcement. We missed out on Debose. I think there is at best a 25% chance he comes to LSU. That Gator chomp he did post-announcement looked legit.

Let's act like we've not only been there, but CONTINUE to be there. Because we HAVE and we DO.

Luke we get along right?

We're not saying that we think we get him. We're saying it's not over.

According to some of the information, Debose is still calling us so I guess we will see. New Tigerrag article (free for viewing), Shep says Debose came over to him right after the accouncement and talked to him and Shep (I realize he's the ultimate optimist) says it's not over.

I'm kinda wondering if there might not be some truth to the rumors about him committin when he wasn't totally ready. I realize he said he had decided 3 weeks ago but I don't know. Too many people thought LSU was the team the whole time, somethin is fishy and I could see people wanting to see all of the Trio commit on tv.

If Gonzo goes to UT I think we stand a very good shot. I'm taking the not expecting him but wouldn't really surprise me to see him change approach. Just my opinion. Feel free to continue to vehemently disagree.

Debose really did seem pressured by his family.. especially his mother to go to UF.. I still doubt he goes elsewhere.. so I'm not going to hang on to it.. but if it happens he still winds up at LSU.. what a terrific icing to the cake that'd be.

Shea is it over?

Like I'm said I am not expectant but I am hopeful.

Should I give up the hope to?

In no way are we in the same position we were before a verbal commit. Just getting up and saying in public I will attend a certain university gives that university a decided advantage. Can he change his mind obviously but we're not in a good position with AD. I have a question. Don't these all star games encourage these recruits to wait to make announcements at their games? And once agreed upon by the recruits aren't they bound to some extent to do so? If the answers are yes then this gives me hope and also cause for less hope on AD. If he wasn't sure he may have made the commitment because he felt he was supposed to. On the other hand he did commit to Florida and may have the same sense of honor in maintaining that decision. What do you all know about the policies of these games? Is it strictly on the kid to say I want to do this or are the games putting pressure on these kids to do so?

Im sure that im being as optimistic as the next person who has been around Debose since the start, so perhaps I should retake my stance.

All the same, I did hear from some people that Debose was unaware of the rumors of Gonzo leaving. That was as of right after his announcement and yesterday morning. On top of that, Mac was out to see him the next day (though it was the first day back from a quiet period, so that could be it)

Also, a reporter asked Gonzo at the BCS media days if he was leaving and he said no.

So that might settle that.

If UF wins the MNC, I have a hard time believing Harvin stays at UF.

Perhaps Debose really likes LSu and the coaches, but feels a little bad for letting them down...sort like, breaking up with someone, you don't want to hurt them....

I am not getting my hopes this time around. I think he ends up at UF

I think the "You're the next Harvin" argument for Florida is what is helping them the most... and lets face it, this is a great card to play. I think he stays in Florida, but we'll see. If he really did contact us, this could only be good for us.

Of course we do, buddy

Maybe I'm bitter after Sunday, but unless there is overwhelming evidence that we WILL get him, then I feel desperate by continuing to discuss him ad nauseum.

He silented to LSU, and then renegged. I'm done with him unless he changes his mind and decides to honor his original verbal (even if it was silent).

The only source that I've seen for this inside information is DD, so I'm going to call BS until I see something confirmed. For all we know, if he DID call coach Mac, he called to say "Sorry for not honoring my word with you guys".

Shep guaranteed we'd get one of the Seminole guys. Methinks Debose led Shep on. If he wants to go to LSU, great. I'm not holding my breath.

I think you're kinda "hoping" there might be some truth to it.

I disagree. I don't think his connection with Gonzo is why he chose UF, and I don't think him leaving will change Debose's reasoning for choosing UF.

I'm just a little more skeptical.

What's it looking like for the chances of Harvin going pro?

I've heard about McCoy, stafford, and Moreno but not a word about Tebow and Harvin.

Call me crazy and flame me all you want BUT:
And I say this admitting that Harvin is a gamebreaker. Damn he sure gets hurt a LOT. Has he had a full season without injury since he's been at UF? Again, that's not an attack on his athletic ability and value but it seems like people are often wondering whether or not he'll even be playing most weeks.

Anyways, anyone heard what way he is leaning toward the pros or not?

Well he's a soft verbal is why he's not on the list in your link. If you look at his verbal, he's a soft commit because he has a visit to take yet. When and where is that visit?

Guess!!!

Yeah.........this weekend.............to Florida.

I think I remember him being interested in Florida but that wasn't reciprocated (sp?) at the time.

To Luke: McCoy is coming back and the other two are still kickin it around but I had thought I had heard they would probably come back. My point was I hadn't even really heard much about Tebow or Harvin discussing it in the news (like espn). I could have missed it however.

Anybody know how many recruits in the past have announced at one of the all-star games on TV and then changed their commitment at the end? I admit I'm too lazy to research it. Just curious how many times it has happened before.
