Cole Smith

LSU was underrepresented in this year’s game and only had two players invited to attended. One of those players five-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall missed the game because of injury. The Tiger pledge that did show up, Cole Smith, struggled all week. He was overpowered relatively easily by elite prospects and didn’t move quickly enough to make up for his lack of size. Smith will need to add considerable size before being ready to produce at LSU.

He looked great in the game and there are other threads already talking about him.

He needs 2 good years of S&C. Will be waiting in the wings to start at Center after Clapp and Cush. A nice longterm project and will probably start for 2-3 years IMO.

He didn't struggle at all in the game. Gave up no sacks and was dominant as a run blocker.

This thread is a prime example of why this site continues to become irrelevant. Hacks that have.no idea what they are talking about create a useless thread acting like well informed insiders with expert opinions. Chances are you read that article and didn’t even watch the game. For future use, just because you have a thought in your head is not a reason to run to Tigerdroppings and create a thread. Sit down. Shut up. Learn something.

I remember we used to have at least 4 or 5 recruits at this game now we get a guy that will be a project for the long term. That's why you go after the big fish to compete for titles. This class addressed needs but how good are they?? We will never know because they didnt compete at these camps against great/elite players. I hope O cleans up next year because this class may add depth but that doesn't mean they are any good. Not saying we wont have some good ones but do they turn out to be Malone a serviceable linemen but average at best.

A lot of the guys we have are developmental types. These guys will most likely pay off for the next coach (maybe Aranda). Right now though, we have very few impact players, and the offense could be in trouble with no returning stars and Ed 0 likely going the good ole boys route and picking some guy he has had a previous connection with as OC.
2018 load up on the beef and a few star skill guys
2019 load up on the ridiculous Louisiana class
2020 Aranda leads an experienced squad to the playoffs in his first year ala Lincoln Riley.

What? You will know as soon as they start competing at practice.

The 2019 class is good, but not spectacular. We will sign 15 max from LA.

The 1x1 drills they do for centers and guards at these combines are the worst possible measure of talent. When 5 guys line up side by side, it's totally different. O-line is the most difficult position to evaluate from drills/practice.

This is from a rivals article. This post is not from an insider.

I was at practice all week and the game.He had a really bad week,no way I can sugarcoat that.He plays hard but he is very undersized, 6'1 260 was what he checked in at.I am not real sure how much weight he'll be able to carry because his frame is very narrow.
I wish the kid luck because he is going to need it.
