I concur with all of this - it is easier to come in and play (start is too strong) a skill position than it is the line. That is not quite as true for Mikes and even less true for QBs but it happens. However, in Garrett's case, we need a Mike like it is nobody's business - he looks like a prescription for what ails us at the position.

(But honestly, I hope we have 2 or 3 guys not named D.J. Welter who can play Mike next year, although I have not been as down on him as others have - as bad as our defense has played at times, Welter's play appears to be a symptom of a larger problem).

So right man. Jalen Collins, Tahj Jones, Alfred Blue, James Wright are all starters because they are older than the players beneath them. All about seniority at LSU.
