Texas was in a similar position as LSU, but in many ways their class is kind of the opposite. Highly ranked, but didn’t fill many needs, except they were desperate for Corner Backs.
Herman did get almost all of the top prospects in the state. Last year almost all left Texas. Next year will be a better indicator about Herman, both on the field and recruiting. He will end up with a great class this year, especially in the secondary, but he lost a bunch of recruiting battles in the trenches, both in Texas and nationwide.
Texas desperately wanted Chasen Hines and Traore this year. A&M has only signed 10 players, but 5 are linemen. Texas is a great state for 7on7 skill players, and Herman is taking advantage of that, but he has got to start winning OL and Defensive front 7 recruiting battles.

I've never seen a fanbase more bummed out over a top 3 recruiting class. They are smart enough to realize that with all of their offensive linemen declaring for the draft or transferring and having absolutely nothing to replace them with. They are HOPING for 6 wins again next year. Hoping for 6 wins. That's what Tom Herman has provided the once proud UT program.

Its pretty embarrassing actually. Their fan base can look at their recruiting class and see that it doesn't fulfill the needs to make them successful. They would probably trade classes with LSU in a heart beat.
On the other hand, a large portion of our fan base would also trade classes with UT in a heart beat. "#3 class. All those stars....oh my."
Then when we would consistently lose games because we are getting punished in the trenches people would want every coach fired.

Stars only. Too much involved to calculate the needs of every team and if they met them. I wouldn't trust their ability to do so even if they tried. They don't have time to evaluate every player that is signed by a 1-A school, much less based on a team's needs at certain positions.

This class will prove itself in 2019 when LSU absolutely DESTROYS Texas. It won’t even be close. LSU will bulldoze those weak pussies on both sides of the line for 4 quarters. Pay attention, go look at all the kids jumping ship over there......look at Herman failing to flip kids from Kansas and failing on 5 different JUCO linemen, including Traore........
I’ll take this class over Texas’ class any day...... Can’t wait to crush them in 2019 AND 2020

There was actually a Texas fan that posted in the Badara Traore Herman thread that said Herm may not even be their coach when we play them in 2019. That's how bad it is in Austin. They miss Strong and they just fired him.

Ahhhh, seriously bro, go lurk their 247 vip board..... their not impressed at all, and know that their class ranking is a “paper tiger” so to speak. Kids are leaving their program in droves...... lots of issues on the 40 acres....... Herman will be fired in the next 2 years the way it’s going over there

Well that was the only evidence I knew of from this board. There are a lot more than one fan on Shaggy Texas that feels that way.
They don't have the ridiculous personal hatred for their coach like idiot LSU fans. They are just depressed and realize that the team is bailing on their coach and he is not replacing the most important components.
