Chris Lockett Jr. officially offered by LSU today

Not a lot of official rankings are out yet for the basketball class of 2023, but ESPN recently just released the first official one and Lockett came in ranked as the 13th best player in America and #1 player in the state of LA, and 5 *. He will probably end up being the most highly ranked in state player since Jarrell Martin in 2013 who came in as the #12 overall player that year. So in other words he could end up the most highly ranked in state player of the past 10 years when he comes out.

A good thing we have going for us of course is that former LSU Basketball player Randy Livingston is the Head Basketball Coach at Newman. I’m glad we have Wade to lock down a guy like this, in my opinion Lockett will end up a crucial in-state player that we will have to land, and I trust Wade to do that.
One last thing to look at here is that Arch Manning Class of 2023 QB who we all already know about, is the 6th man on the Newman Basketball Team. I would imagine him and Lockett being in the same grade are good buddies. Pretty crazy we could end up having a 5 star Football and Basketball player at the same High School at once coming out. Would love for these guys to stay in state and play for LSU. Hopefully LSU can pull it off.

Another guy that will be extremely highly ranked out of LA in 2023 will be Tyler Ringgold.

Right from Baton Rouge, could end up being a top 25 overall player at Wing to pair with Lockett. It would be great if LA can start producing more basketball talent again to pair with how well Wade can recruit nationally.

Not only does Lockett play for Newman but he also plays for Fleur de Lis, the AAU program that Randy runs and coaches with. Lockett may well end up in the Top 10 of those rankings by his Senior year and maybe even before then.
