Coach O needs a top 5 class to beat Bama. Beating Bama should be the programs number 1 goal.

People here are doing mental gymnastics to praise this mediocre class

This shows just how stupid some of the Rantards are. How exactly is a class that has a strong possibility of finishing ranked in the top 10 considered mediocre???

quote:

“Hey we filled needs so that’s why it’s not highly rated” as if you can’t fill up your class with needs and have them be highly ranked.

This was discussed earlier. If LSU didn't take a FG kicker and center in this class it would have a higher ranking. So yeah, don't sign a highly decorated kicker or a center who played tackle and hasn't given up a sack in two seasons for a higher ranking.

There is also cases like this snippet from the LSU website:

Chasen Hines * DT
Fr. • 6-3 • 335 • HS
Marshall, Texas • Marshall High School

Before switching to the defensive line, was listed as the No. 1 offensive guard in the state of Texas and No. 6 nationally… Ranked by 247sports as the No. 22 defensive tackle in the nation.

quote:

Not only has O not upped the recruiting game as some swore he would upon hiring,

He has upgraded the recruiting game by a large margin. You are looking at stars and rankings.

There is one LARGE fact you are overlooking or intentionally ignoring (most likely the case). LSU will have four new players this coming season, two who are probable starters. These players do not figure into the recruiting rankings for this class or it would already be in the top 10. Breiden Fehoko and Jonathon Giles are the probable starters. The others are Thaddeus Moss and Tyler Shelvin.

Not sure if the kicker counts in the rankings or not. It could be five new players with three starters that don't help star gazers if he doesn't count in the rankings.

Mr. Louisiana himself may not even be able to lock down the state.

May not be able to??? Ha Ha Ha Ha
Making shite up to be miserable about, par for the course.

I would rather be right about Orgeron being a bad hire. Over the long term, it would be good. No use dragging out a bad hire. Cut our loss and move on.

Get used to being very disappointed then. I bet the bowl game against Notre Dame with a chance to finish in the top 10 final rankings is killing you. Good !!! Ha Ha Ha Ha

Wow good one

Now that I know I'm dealing with a 9 yr old (tard was the give away) I'll ease up and use smaller words

Coach Oeaux did fine for first full year crooting and your boy dabeaux likes little boys ...so you may have a chance there

Fans expected Orgeron's classes to look like Kirby's classes at UGA

Only the idiot fans. Four of Ga's 5-stars are from Georgia. Louisiana is not loaded like Georgia this year.

quote:

But since we're barely in the top 15, fans will resort to excuses

Yeah, LSU is ranked anywhere from 12 to 15 with a chance to finish in the top 10. Lets make excuses for what could turn out to be a great class.

quote:

getting personally attacked on this board because people want to believe that this is somehow an elite class.

I have no idea who the guy is. Time will tell but it looks like the class with the four who don't even count towards it can definitely turn out to be an elite class. The line depth will be better than it has been in a long time if not the best ever.

quote:

Orgeron has been here for 3 years, and most of our coaching staff has been here for the past 2. There's no reason why our current class shouldn't be in the top 5.

Not even the fact that it is a down year in Louisiana? Top 5 ???? You don't set high or unrealistic expectations do you?

Go back to the Rant or wherever you came from. You are too late to the game to understand recruiting.

I’d prefer LSU to win but thus far the two pilllars of the O hire, cruiting and coordinators, are off to troubling starts

I think they are both off to great starts. The team and recruiting class can both finish in the top 10. Not bad for a first year head coach.

I think we finish strong, but I think Hanny and Ott's main issue with the class if I heard it correctly is you got to add another QB. I would agree with them on that

We're never ever winning the west again if those are the playmakers we trot out on offense, correct.

Well that's something that needs to change if we want to topple Bama, especially since our HC was specifically hired because of his recruiting abilities. They're recruiting nationally at an effective level.

I wonder what clemsons class was rated 4 years ago

Georgia was 12
Clemson was 13
LSU was 7
Ole Mis 6
Michigan 5
Florida 4

These are kids and still growing. Anything a 3* or above is a great player which can be developed physically and mentally depending on their work ethic and program.

Bottom line, final rankings don't mean shite once you crack the top 15

FYI, that was 2013...in 2014

Clemson 16
LSU 2

Freaking rantards. One bitches that LSU may not lock down Louisiana. The next idiot wants to only recruit nationally.

quote:

Only when haters wan't to hate. On the rant he was hired because of where he's from, the way he talks, because the previous coach went 9-3 and didn't beat bama, for continuity of the program. Untrue shite is made up on a daily basis to fit the specific agenda that day. Today it is recruiting. Good job.

By the way of LSU's 20 commits:
3 are from Texas
2 are from Florida
2 are from Mississippi
1 is from Massachusetts
1 is from California by way of Massachusetts
1 is from Alabama

LSU may sign two more from Alabama - Harold Joiner and James Foster.

May sign one from Missouri in Mario Goodrich

May sign two more from Florida in Justin Watkins and Patrick Surtain Jr.

One of these days you, Cowboy have to learn how to converse without resorting to personal attacks. You're not doing your boss any favors in the eyes of public perception.

Where did I say I wanted them to recruit only nationally. You have a real problem with facts, per usual.

Obviously I mean relative to our competition (Bama).

We could recruit all 25 spots from Minnesota, and what good would that do us? I mean LSU needs to have the ability to go into California and compete to get top guys, namely QBs, of which we have zero right now. We have Orgeron, who coached in CA, and is a recruiting dynamo. What's the problem?

I just have a real problem with O saying that he doesn't need to recruit in CA heavily because there's so many studs right here in LA, then guys like you throwing your hands up and saying "welp, it's a weak LA class." If it's a weak LA class then they need to shift gears and get the talent from other pipelines. A weak LA class is not an excuse.

You want to post all of the pictures of LSU's defensive coordinator on the recruiting trail. Shouldn't take long to find all of them, I'll wait. Thanks in advance.

Oh NEAUX, coach Eaux is running off Aranda. He sent him on fools errands where no one even had a camera.
