Can IMG Academy offer a sponsorship to a player since it operates as an independent?

I think it's clear that IMG is already offering some money under the table to be able to attract players/families from all over the country to relocate to Florida, but can they now openly sponsor a player since they are an national independent?

there’s probably hundreds of programs that do what IMG does, just not on that scale…

I thought it was pretty open that they float the elite football players for publicity and the kids going for Tennis and a golf and shite pay insane amounts of money.

They have an outrageous tuition. They offer this to kids around the country:

Come live your senior year in Florida get world class training and coaching and you’ll receive one of the best educations in the country

Parents love that shite.

Here’s the reality of the world though- all big football schools recruit. John Curtis, West Monroe, Zachary, Rummel etc.

Jamar Chase lived in Marrero and went to Rummel in Metairie.

I think it all should be fair game. Parents still have the right to tell people to get the hell out of their house. But if you want to send your kid to a safer school while getting a better education because he’s a good ball player then why not?

Rummel is a catholic school so where he lives doesn’t matter

How he paid tuition is another story. But Rummel used to have “works study” programs for poor kids who didn’t play football too.

When I was There that meant the football players picked up a cone after practice and the poor kids who were unathletic painted poles during the summer.

Y’all are clearly recruiting kids. Idgaf. I have no problem with it but it’s clear as day.

You think he would come all the way from Marrero for Rummels education?

Lol ok.

It’s a better education than literally everywhere on the west bank.

Obviously but it’s not close to the best on the other side of the river

Bruh if you think Jamar Chase came to Rummel for the education then we can’t even have a conversation. You’re too invested and emotional if that’s the case

Based on responses, it sounds like there are no rules when it comes to IMG Academy recruiting/sponsoring players from all over the country. I would just love for a small country school - who doesn't recruit - to blast IMG on the field. They have such an elitist attitude that they feel like they don't have abide by any rules and NIL plays right into their hands.

Evangel used to be the worst.

Literally get the kids family jobs, a house, etc…. To move and play football for them.

I know of 1 true (back in the day) powerhouse that didn’t recruit and they stood toe to toe with some of the big boys. Haynesville golden tornados.

Let me rephrase they recruited kids But the only area I know of was magnolia Arkansas
