My high school team played Prosper Friday night (where our 2019 Kicker commit goes to). He was one of the best high school Kickers I have ever seen. He went 7-7 on PAT’s and 3-3 on Field Goals. Yes, they scored a lot. I don’t remember the exact distances on the kicks, but I remember 2 were from around the 40 yard mark, and 1 was a 50 yarder. Also on his kickoffs the ball was going through the post every time. I know we have Cole this year, but I think Cade York will continue the kicking dominance for years to come. Thought I would let y’all know, we have a very good kicker coming in.

Got to give it to Greg McMahon. This is some of the best special teams we've had in a long time, then after losing out on Will Reichard, he quickly bounces back and gets Cade York, who is the No. 2 kicker according to Kohl's Kicking Camps, the #1 source for kicking recruiting.

Thanks for the info. Having a good kicker in the SEC cannot be over emphasized. I recall a few people on the Rant who were upset LSU, "wasted" a scholly on a kicker. But, as we saw yesterday, in the SEC, a good kicker can mean the difference between a w and a l. Anyway, can you keep the Rant updated on Yorks play this season?

That’s good to hear. Last night I was looking at the depth chart and all of the talent that is returning. If we can hold onto the underclassmen that aren’t sure 1st & 2nd round picks. I’m guessing we will just lose D. White & G. Williams. If we bring back a good kicker we are sure to be even better next year.

My Daughter is an administrator in Prosper and I will get to see him play in a few weeks. She has told me that he is VERY talented and is also an awesome young man. He is also a good punter I am told!
Will report back when I get to see him in person.

I’m not too far from Little Elm. I live in Flower Mound. About 30 minutes away.

That's correct and LSU would have beaten Troy and ND last year with a good kicker and would have posted an 11-2 record. How much different would this program have looked or would have been projected to be if they would have been 11-2?

That's exactly why I was lost at why some of our idiot fans took the bait from the national media or local media or how the media took the bait from our idiot fans. Followers will always follow the crowd.

LSU would have lost to Auburn if the bad kicker had showed up in that game. I would say it's well worth a scholly if the kicker is a good one. Can make you look like a genius or a failure, when really, you're the same coach out there.

Isn’t that where Gamble was from? (Keeping it on the kicking theme)

Yup. I go to the High School he went to, I’m good friends with his little brother. He was incredible in High School, I’m not sure why it never translated into college.

I think it’s the mental aspect. Tracy seems to understand the little things and doesn’t overthink his kicks which help him

Seems to me it was Miles/BDP induced issues. Like trying to make him kick to the corners (while trying to keep it inbounds) or “pooch” kick inside the 5, instead of just booming it through the EZ.

What miles wanted made sense, if done right. A high hanging kick in the corner allows the other team to return the kick, and gives your special teams a chance to make a play to pin them inside the 20 or force a turnover. We just didn’t have anyone capable of consistently doing that and Les Miles insanity didn’t comprehend that

No argument that it wasn’t a good strategy, and you summed it up perfectly.
