Absolutely run blitzes can be effective but you can’t run them every snap and expect not to get destroyed. Stopping running QB is all about assignment football.

That is crazy! Swinson played the vast majority at one end...S Jones the vast majority at the other end. Both are seniors. Paez played most of the snaps at DT. Suggs played significantly although not as much as I would liked. The LSU TR FR were fillers...they did NOT play a lot of the DL. Maybe you are thinking of another team...not LSU.
BTW, I didn't say to employ run blitzes every play. But usually the formation gives you a hint. For example, a QB draw is much more likely to occur in a vacant backfield than when a RB is there also. If a RB is there, you automatically lose an effective blocker from the LOS.
