Nothing wrong with football in covington.
One of the best QB prospects in La. history went to Covington High Steve Smith in like 88 or so. Went on to Stanford was Wac-10 freshman of the year starting over Steve Stentsrom who was later a heisman candidate and nfl QB. If not for a broken back and Tommy John surgery would have likely had a very successful carrer.

I promise you care what Lache has to say... This board is set up just to figure out what some kid is going to say.

Exactly. Not to mention this kid might be talked about himself one day. I've heard he isn't to bad himself. I took what he told me for what it was. A kid who happens to be a pretty good football player that plays on his team, is his friend, that has already played against some pretty good talent himself, who got excited when Houston was offered, who was hoping he could match it himself one day, and was willing to talk to me about it, and gave me permission to write todays longest run on sentence

No. You are lobbying for a position. You gave your "info". When we told you we are unimpressed by the source, YOU began lobbying.
We are not concerned about the 16 y/o's evaluation. Let it go. Anyone who wants to get their panties in a bunch can read your OP and start sweating. Those of us that choose to accept the coaches' evaluations are cool with it.

Do you not understand the difference between what an actual recruit says and what some random kid who may or may not be a teammate of a recruit has to say?

I couldn't care less what Lache's assesment of Bates is. Why would you care if Lache said Bates is only average?

i'm glad that kid know more about bates that chavis
Posted on 7/23/09 at 4:15 pm to jimmyd
for some reason I thought this guy was not talent as he was said to be
Posted on 7/23/09 at 4:17 pm to jimmyd
Prolly half this class won't pan out and Bates is certainly a good bet to fall into that half. Still, none of us know for sure who will rise and who won't and that's what keeps it interesting.
A lot of people thought Jarrod Carter wouldn't amount to much but look how he turned out.

He is slow
That's simply not true. He ran a 4.80 on a slow track at the Scout Combine where Trovon Reed ran a 4.59.
Also, Chris Faulk would disagree that he's average.

I hear that DT that St. Paul's has is going to be scary good if he can start learning to play with effort consistently
Posted on 7/23/09 at 5:11 pm to tigerskin
I bet if Bates finds out which kid ran his mouth he whips his arse to the kid thinks he's an All-American.
Posted on 7/23/09 at 5:11 pm to seeLSUrun
he was the overall mvp at some combine in NO, maybe the Nike one and there was some very good talent there, so he isnt average, he may not be great but he aint avg
personally I wonder about the offer but you've got to trust the coaches b/c chavis knows his shite

I trust Miles but most of the Tennessee people said Chavis was not much of recruiter, correct?
