Got to see him play this last Friday night at Boaz in the first round of the AHSAA playoffs. Quick release, sidearm motion throwing. He threw one back across the field and his receiver went up and got it. It initially looked to be a bad decision, as you typically don't scramble east and throw back west...and expect good things. I believe he's listed at 6'6"/220. He's all of 6'6"...but I don't think he's much over 200 to be honest. He looks to need some muscle building on the lower legs area. Strong thrower (when he was able to throw...Athens ran the ball a lot). Looks like he's got good escape capability and pocket awareness. Had good game sense about him and didn't take a delay of game. He was actually on the "hands team" late in the game for an on-side kick too.

Athens won 21-20.

A little premature saying that. You have no idea how he is going to pan out.

Come on deuce, it's an Arky fan.
Just trying to bad mouth the kid on our board. Nothing surprising.
I'm glad we got him. We needed some Qb depth. Hope he turns out to be a winner.

Maybe because I was in the pressbox doing some "official" business?

I clearly stated "when he was able to throw". The incompletes were drops on 2 occasions and 1 time to stop the clock.

Who? Other than Mettenburger who else really wants to come to LSU and play QB? Let me also rephrase that to before the Alabama game because with that win, we may have opened the eyes to some other prospect(Bridgewater, etc) Before that and the Bridgewater talk, no one else was on our radar. You can't knock the kid and say we wasted a scholly on him. To early to say that. Give him a redshirt and put muscle on him, who knows. He has the blood line and that is enough for me.

The best part about Stephen Rivers, is that he hates Alabama.

Yea it would suck to have a Top 3 NFL QB talent on campus.

Don't mean to hijack but out of Brees, Brady, and Manning, who is Rivers ahead of?

Yeah..I guess he would have looked bad versus Hartselle. Hartselle is also 10-1 with the one loss coming to Decatur.

And for all of you who have doubts about Rivers...

Driskell was only 4-11 for 28 yards in his last game...

Prefer the Louisiana product Zack Oliver myself.
