At 18 commits, who do we finish with?

I feel like we aren’t going to sign more than 25 in this class. Assuming we don’t lose any current commits, I think we close with this class:
Pat Surtain Jr.
Terrace Marshall
Badora Traore
Kelvin Joseph
Dominic Livingston
Either James Foster or Justin Rogers
1 of Harold Joiner/Pooka Williams/Justin Watkins

I think Watkins is in regardless of those two backs.

Watkins depends on where Waddle goes

The new rules limit everyone to a max of 25.
I would drop Dominic Livingston (we have a ton of DT committed).
I would take Justin Watkins or another similar slot receiver with that scholarship. Particularly since we did not have enough WR to run 4 wide sets this year. ;-)
I would prefer Anthony "Pooka" Williams if he can get grades. He has dominated the 5A playoffs. And we are in good position next year for running backs if he falls through. The two RB commits would get us through the next year.

Anthony cook may also land in this class and hearing travez Moore still has grades problem something to keep an eye on

All these Great receivers in state..... why can’t we pull in the haul ?
We could set up ourselves..... will we lose guys to Kansas, TCU, etc ???
That’s bullshite !!!!!!

If we land Marshall, Jones, Jenkins, and Watkins that will be a really good class. Chase and Jason had their chance to be in this class.

Are we recruiting any other OL? I see we have only 3 committed.
I don't know anything about Dare Rosenthal other than his height at 6'7. Is he a possible switch from DT to OT?
Seems like we should have add at least one more in addition to Badora.

This would give us a composite score of 273.93. This would easily put us in the top 10. With the monster 2019 class we gonna ride

I trust that the coaches will put him wherever they think is best. I do believe that they should consider the switch to OT though. He's got the size and athleticism there, but who knows?
Just a guess, but I think they finish with:
Surtain
Marshall
Watkins
Joseph
Traore
Joiner
Foster or Rogers, most likely Foster.
Beal
Cook, but I'm hesitant about this one.
I do think we sign over 25, most likely 27, so assuming we keep the 18 we already have, we can sign about 9 more. I would love to see Chase and Jason signed in this class too, but I think that bridge is already burned. Livingston will likely be apart of this class too. I really really want Cook though. This to me is the only name I mentioned that could choose elsewhere. This would be a great finish regardless.

I just don't see Beal TE in this class. Too many bigger fish IMO. If grades work out Pooka needs to be in this class, way too much talent and ways he can contribute not to have. I'd go with WR Marshall, Watkins then Athlete Pooka. DB's Joseph, Surtain maybe Cook then 1 QB. Not a knock but we really don't need NG Livingston in this class.

Not signing over 25.
LINK - Recruiting rules to know (from Sonny)
I suppose the remaining question is how would the JUCO guys be counted. If they (Traore/Lewis) could be “backcounted,” then I suppose we would be at 27 by taking a full allotment of 25 HS signees.
quote:
Schools used to be able to take more than 25 signees in a class with the loophole being they could count early enrollees to the previous signing class.
According to a college coach we spoke to, that loophole is no longer in effect meaning there is a hard cap at no more than 25 signees in each given class, provided a school can sign that many prospects and not go over the NCAA mandated 85-person scholarship limit.
Under the old rule, LSU would be able to sign 27 players in the 2018 class. However, 25 is the number that Ed Orgeron and his staff must juggle.

IF the JUCO guys are considered "transfers", then they do NOT count against the 25. They count against the 85 limit.

Pat Surtain Jr.
Terrace Marshall
Badora Traore
Kelvin Joseph
Pooka Williams
Justin Watkins
Michael Williams
This is our most likely finish IMO (assuming we don't lose one of our current commits). Seems that Pooka is trending over Joiner and it doesn't seem to me that Foster is a huge priority (for whatever reason). The big question to me is where Beal would fit in this picture. Not sure who he would replace off that list.

Dream finish:
Surtain Jr.
Joseph
Cook
Traore
Marshall
Joiner
Rogers
Watkins
Pooka
Out of the 18 commits I think we lose 1 or 2 by signing day.
