part of the art of making up the ratings is not just the stars of each player, but whether the team fills needs

getting no QB is worse than getting a 2 star QB.

whomever it is is going to redshirt, sit and watch and learn.

If it makes you feel any better, Scout has him as a 3* and says Arizona, Purdue and Vandy have offered.

If it makes you feel any better, Omar Jacobs, Ben Mauck, Curtis Painter, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Colt McCoy, Greg McElroy, Christian Ponder, Colin Kaepernick, Andy Dalton and Kellen Moore were all 2 or 3 stars and they turned out to be ok in college.

My best guess is that Krag feels like he has good ceiling. His height and weight are good, if he has a good head on his shoulders he could turn out to be a diamond in the rough, after a couple years of polishing.

He's a 4* QB on ESPN with the exact same rating as Zach Lee 2 years ago. The problem this year is that there are alot of 4* QBs and instead of looking at the player's measurables, people are lookking at the fact that he is #18QB.

If we can get him, get him. We still need a QB next year though.

Edited-----

Checked all the sites:

ESPN - 4* 80
Rivals - 2* 5.4
247 - 3* 80
Scout - 3*

If you are one of the negative people on the board he's a 2*QB and OMG how LSU has fallen!

If you are a realist, then you see that the sites have him all over the place and he is probably around that 3* level. Not great in highschool, but worth offering as a project QB for this year.

Briscoe has different stars on different sites, this says to me the various sites haven't really studied this kid, just taken canned reports. I have no problem with the coaches thinking is is worth an offer.

The hardest position to project is the QB, don't worry about the star rating. The recruiting services really just offer a crapshoot ranking because of all the intangibles needed for that position.

I always focus more on the offer list, especially offers from schools that can develop QBs.

agree. Go back and look at the 5* QBs from the last 7 or 8 years and you will see about 40% pan out to be good QBs. Obviously some of the best we have seen came out of highschool to be really good QBs, but there are alot of guys who did nothing. There are also more 4* QBs who have had good college careers in the recent past than 5* have had.

Well, while it is discouraging we can't seem to get some sort of....Big time QB talent this season, I think we just have to have a QB.

A body to put in the mix who is there. I mean....why not?

It's not an either/or situation. We already have Jared Foster.

Has anybody seen any film or anything on this guy? What kind of arm does he have?

What were his stats as a SR?

Rivals says he had 301 attemtps 147 completions for 2,358 yards and 23 Tds with 14 interceptions his Jr. year. Not so great.

It also lists that he had 51 receptions for 792 yards and 4 TDs his soph year. If he was a WR, he has to have some athleticisim.
