If it is accurate that Raymond is already the highest paid coach at his position in the country then this is obviously about more than $.
This is about staff dynamics, feeling appreciated, etc.
Fortunately, our 3 CB’s signed early so we won’t be losing any of them. I suppose it would hurt with Christian Williams and maybe Hampton, but Hampton is a gamble and I don’t know if we will have a scholarship for Williams anyway.
Will be interesting to see what Raymond does, but I can’t see him leaving unless things have gotten really sour on the staff. If that’s the case it’s probably best for both sides if he leaves.

Hopefully it gets worked out because this situation is the one negative in what has been a very positive post season

Looks cool with the lights
Yep, now if we could only replace the stadium lights to go along with it. They are horrendous.

Gotcha. I was going by the posts above that and thought maybe he just missed those. But yeah, makes more sense the other way with Raymond.

Raymond wants to be more than just a DB coach. Even a raise may not keep him around forever.

Some people here prefer to drive the wedge than remove it

I support Corey Raymond and the job he’s done at LSU.
Here’s to you Corey
P.S. If you go to a Georgia I want that beer back....

Zach looks like a grown man. We would have our all-time greatest backfield if he comes.
On paper?
Slow your roll... let them all play a single snap in P&G before pushing them higher than Faulk/Collins/Mealey, Hilliard/James gang, Fournette/Guice/Williams, etc etc etc

On paper for sure but I would love to see how that would play out.

He's the type of player we need to stockpile. Emery does his thing and then the next 5-star steps up after he's done and that's how you build a perennial powerhouse.

For anywhere near whats being said is the offer, hes not that good. Cooper didnt recruit but coached the hell out of DBs so its not without precedent. Seeing as though Cooper is the godfather of dbu, its a pretty high precedent.
I love Raymond on the staff but not at anywhere near 800 grand. Thats nuts. Besides we have Busch so we can hire a recruiter if thats what need to help him. For a hell of a lot less than 800 grand.

I agree. 800 000 is outrageous. He's already one of the highest paid DB coaches in the country. He's fishing for a title and a raise. Let him go get it. I like Corey and I want him to stay but I think if Georgia is actually offering 800 and I've seen no evidence of that being true then you have to let him go.

Too late. Corey is staying at LSU.

C. Raymond did NOT commit to Georgia.

Hope LSU info tweets that to Hampton, Ward, and Williams.
Very happy he's staying!
Look for TAMU to ask for an interview and blast it over social media leading up to NLI day... even if he refuses to interview. That's what these guys do.

Is it worth the change?

UPDATE:
This is what needs to be addressed.... Raymond is the No. 6 highest paid assistant on LSU's staff at $410,000 and No. 205 in the nation among college assistants.
Also, the article on Rivals mentions his contract expires next year.
I read in another post that he is the 5th or 6th highest paid db coach in the country this year (top was 500). The post also said he is scheduled to make 460 next year. That is better than a 12% raise next year. I guess you could extend a year with another 10% raise to get him over 500. This is a pretty good salary in BR.
