Good article...seems like an outstanding kid that would be a great addition to both the football and baseball teams.

His high school coach, Steve Buckley, was an LSU assistant under Curley Hallman (also coached with him at Southern Miss). I don't think he has a lot of love for LSU, but I don't know how much of a factor that will be in Alford's decision.
I'd love for Alford to sign with LSU and then let MLB fall where it may. When you have a chance to sign a dual talent lke him, you take the chance.

I'd love to have him especially since he is open to coming as a pure athlete. I think he compares favorably to a Pat White or a Tyrod Taylor but thicker.

That's the type of kid that you build a championship team around. I hope he plays for LSU...but I really hope that he plays football...somewhere.
Does anyone know if Larry Weems was the coach at St Stanislaus...many years ago. This would have been in the early 80's.

If he plays football anywhere, it will be LSU.

I've seen this before......and then he goes Pro Baseball....I had him as the 26th commit, for obvious reasons.

We already know the ending to this story.
As GWB said, "Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice. . . don't get fooled again.
