Ive been out of the loop here for a while, but is there any kind of consensus about Patterson vs Franks? all things being equal I'd prefer the Louisiana kid but Feleipe is a freak.

We should be getting both so who cares.

Patterson is more polished, but franks has a little more upside.

Patterson all the way. Franks is a great athlete I'd prefer the more pure passer. Either way it goes, I'll be very happy.

Franks is a passer only...watch his highlights. Don't let your calvary glasses cloud your vision

Franks could be drafted high in baseball...risk!

Feleipe has a much bigger frame and above average athleticism. He's not truly a dual threat though. People are worried about his mechanics, but I think they forget how young he is. Brandon Harris needed to work on his mechanics at the same stage, and by all accounts he worked those out by the time he arrived at LSU. Expect to see a similar growth from Franks. He had the strongest ball speed of any QB regardless of class at LSU's most recent camp. He is a big time baseball player as well so his college future could be cloudy.
Like others have said, Patterson is very polished for a high school QB. I have heard his footwork is incredible. He seems to be a pure QB through and through. I don't know how he test out athletically, but he seems to be fine in that department. He will be a highly coveted prospect by the time signing day '16 rolls around.
You wouldn't be wrong going with either one, and honestly I'd love to get both on campus and see how things work out. They already have the mindset that they must compete with one another, so I expect them to remain focused on improving.

Has this kid already spoken with coaching staff?

I hope this is someone that we aren't expecting to commit. For this to be an "atomic bomb" and all..
