Alignment (Long)

Alignment is the best process for kids with issues.
Alignment is a mind set.
A mind set of "Purposeful Actions" performed with intent towards the required or desired result.
It's a process of building conscious competence in all your actions and with focus on the results of the actions.
More importantly, through repetition the purposeful actions of the mind set develop into relaxed and relentless unconscious purposeful actions performed with lazer focused intent.
In other words, the process becomes second nature, baws.
Focus is normal. Responsibility to one's self (classes/school) and one's teammates (football) is embraced. Competition thrives in both the individual and Team concepts.
I'll go ahead and say the forbidden word. CBK Alignment teaches discipline but without the overbearing weight that most young people equate with the word.
Anybody remember all the shite Tom Osborne took for keeping the troubled Lawrence Phillips on the team at Nebraska? His response was something to the effect of "He's better off being in the structure of the team than out on his own". And he was right.
That argument has been used many many times since.
Now, it won't surprise me if young Mr Harris comes to LSU and proves there wasn't really all that much to be concerned about and just balls his arse off.
But, like every other guy on the LSU football team, he will learn everyday skills that set him up to be a well rounded and successful MAN.
I won't go out on a limb here because there are so many on it one more believer could make it crack and fall from the tree, but we are damn fortunate to have Brian Kelly as the Head Football Coach at LSU!
Graduate Champions!

I'll just mention that, while I get your Nebraska example, please don't equate Denver Harris's minor brushes with the law last year with that woman abuser L.Phillips.

For real. Phillips was a bonafide sexual predator, murderer and deeply troubled individual.

I prolly spent 15 or so minutes trying to get the wording right on that post. There's elements of Time Management, Self Discipline, and Personal Responsibility intertwined and I'm certainly not the expert at explaining the entire concept of Alignment that others are.
That said - at NO point did I ever even consider mentioning Lawrence Phillips' crimes and compare them to young Harris.
There's a hundred kids I could have mentioned but Phillips/Osborne is the best example most people will remember.
Not Phillips' fricking crimes but the situation of a Coach not abandoning a kid who needs help/guidance - whether the Coach is successful in helping the youngster long term or not.
If you read the post as a comparison between Phillips' and Harris' transgressions, then those dark turning thoughts are completely on you, dip.

quote:Dude, you are better than that. I refuse to believe that you read that post as a comparison of Phillips'crimes vs Harris' indiscretions instead of a just a reference to make a point about a situation.

Lol. I'm really not. Sometimes I just click threads and respond to the latest post with no regard for the context or previous conversation.
