Les always recruits 25, why, because the coaches suggest to 3rd and 4th string players to move on to smaller schools after 1 or 2 years of evaluation. They all do this.

I havent read the article in the link but Im betting it doesnt account for natural attrition (not the program intentionally dismissing kids because they're not good enough)

I think LSU is going to have to move 6 or 7 players out to make room for next year's class...next year is going to be even worse given the low number of seniors and the amount of top talent in the state.
Frankly this practice stinks...

I guess it depends whether you prefer a win at all possible cost attitude or not. Personally, I'm fine with what Tress does, much more than I'd be if he oversigned kids and then cut kids who did everything right (but just weren't as good as thought), because there had to be scholarship room. I don't think that's right.
I bet you voted for Obama... Handouts for nothing anyone? If you don't perform why do you deserve to keep the scholarship?
If an engineer on scholarship drops his GPA to a 1.5 he loses his scholarship... Why should it be any different for an athlete that is underperforming?

But what did their budget allow for? It's not just about how many you sign per year, but also how many you have room for. I don't care if you sign 40, so long as you have scholarships for 40.
This is really the crux of the arguement and all that really matters as far as I am concerned.
