2008 was much heavier on 3-stars, especially early on. Only with Peterson and Shaw committing down the stretch did it almost break into the top 10.

This class won't be like last year's (and hopefully next year's), but it should be in the top 10 all year.

This years class is a great need filler class. We can be picky who we offer. Next year is a get the most talented kids in class. B/c there's talent everywhere.

It doesn't seem that we are being that picky though.

There are four or five guys who are not highly regarded in this year's class. That is no different than 2009 and an improvement on 2008.

last I looked we had a top 5-6 class in the country

Does LSU high ranking have more to do with how many early verbals they have compared to other top BCS programs?

All of the traditional top programs have a bunch of early commitments right now except for Ohio State and USC (and to a certain extent Notre Dame and Penn State).

Florida, UGA, Bama, Oklahoma, LSU, and Texas all have 16-20 players in their class right now.
