So, what you're saying is, that 5 stars have a higher percentage of their cohort who are starting in the NFL. That's pretty much what we have been saying. And it's not really close. The next highest percentage wise is 4stars, and the 5 stars are 2X their rate
True. It's even more disproportionate on the pro-bowl roster. That being said it also illustrates that there are a significant amount of diamonds in the rough in the 3 star and below recruits.
Look at elite QBs. On the pro-bowl roster we have:
Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott (3 stars)
Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisburger (unrated)
Derek Carr was the lone 4 star guy and no 5 star QBs.
I would imagine guys like Cameron, Winston and Luck were all 4 star and above.

And the 3 star
Guys we sign usually have very solid offer list. That's what I go buy. When half the sec and all the blue bloods offer I know we're getting a good one

For a four star his offer list/schools interested were mid majors at best. Do you think he got his bump because LSU offered and accepted his commitment? Most of the recruiting services analyst can't see evey kid in person so they give best guesses based off of who is recruiting said kid. Kinda like all the 4 & 5 star talent Mack Brown brought in to UT during his last few years. Most were given those stars early because Mack was recruiting them. Same for Saban recruits getting bumps after committing to bama. Now LSU is known to evaluate db talent with the best and this could be the reason for the fourth star after his commitment to LSU. That JMO.
