I’ve noticed 24/7 adding to and shuffling their lower ranked players on the composite and noticed Cam East finally getting ranked
Made him 3 star #427 overall #42 OT and #19 in the state leap frogging him ahead of Javae Gilmore Quincy Wiggins and Jordan Allen
Amazing size at 6-7 280lb hopefully the coaching staff on this kid
24/7 also added a WR from Mandeville Landon Ibieta 6-1 180lb debuting at #31 in the state...anybody have the scoop on this guy?

Bama must have started recruiting him

Nice, glad to see they finally got him ranked in the composite. Thanks for sharing this update.
Given our projected situation at OL for 2022, I sure would think this kid must be on the cusp of getting an offer.
Need to sign as many tackles in 2022 as possible!!!

How does 24/7 and these recruiting sites know so little about talent in this state. I mean they couldn't find a 6-7, 280 lb. Tackle at a premiere program in the heart of New Orleans. It not some 1A school in some off the beaten path school. These pay recruiting sites are a joke. You could read this board or Dandy Dons list and find out about this kid.

That’s surprising and must be based completely on potential because he’s not better than Wiggins or Allen right now.

Blew up recently at a 7 on 7 with the bootleggers. Unfortunately, I don’t see us taking him over the other receivers ranked ahead of him. He’s a damn good player and should continue to see offers roll in.

247sports has had him ranked for quite a while now, it was just his composite ranking that was added (which probably has something to do with the ESPN rankings being behind).

I don't see cam east being in LSU's class.
Also weird that he leap frogged the other 3

I mean...they evaluate literally thousands of kids. It’s kind of inconceivable that, a year out and in the middle of a pandemic year, they *wouldnt* have kids slip through the cracks to some extent. Hell, they’ve got him ranked now. I really don’t think this merits any criticism

Ibieta, had a chance to watch him in action a few weeks back he plays for a 7on7 team Im affiliated with. Kid went to Miami and put on a show!! Great route running, excellent hands, he was the best receiver out there and earned a few offers for his performance. Miami was one of the schools to offer, Here’s a clip of him from a few weeks back.

Look up an article released earlier in the week about Texas QB commit, 30th overall in the composite, Maalik Murphy. Kid is on the cusp of 5* status and being heavily recruited by national powers, but not local USC which his hs feeds, yet has thrown less than 50 game passes in HS.
They rely very much on word of mouth, who schools recruit, name recognition and the dog and pony shows which are 7 on 7 ball for a great majority of the early rankings. Much moreso than actual game film. It's a joke but there's really no checks and balances for those services as there are only a few of them and much collusion involved because they rely on the same sources for info.
Those rankings should be seen for what they are, somewhat educated guesses for entertainment purposes. They get better as the cycle goes on but are far from an exact science and far too many take them too seriously. Form your own opinions on the recruits and decide yourself how you feel about kids your school is recruiting.(obviously LSU for most on here) You have just as much a chance of being correct as the so called experts. 7 on 7 and the spring/summer camp seasons have ruined the profession and made many lazy at their jobs. If you read between the lines in many of the articles on rankings, the writers essentially admit who gets recruited by certain schools(Bama bump for example) means a lot. Any of us could do it with comparable hit rates based on that.
