So, Vol, does it mean that we're looking good on landing an OT or two?

I appreciate it. That would be a dope finish. Did he say we let go if that is the finish
Posted on 7/23/19 at 1:04 am to Tyga4lyfe
He did not but I think it'd be Berry and Jackson. Maybe Gaye depending on how his season goes.

With Gaye only having 2 years left he'd need to be D1 ready the day he steps on campus. I don't know what position they want him to play, but 270 isn't oline ready, IMHO. He'd need to add 20 to 30 pounds without losing any mobility. I really like Berry and Jackson, I think Berry is going to be a very good NT and Jackson has the potential to be a very athletic LT. This is a good dilemma to have, cherry picking players. Well, not all the ones you really want, but most of them.

I would be shocked if we were done at OT, but I also am not ready to say we have any in the bag at the moment. There's still lots of recruiting to be done, visits taken, etc... Despite some of the rumors around that we are out on Dunervil, Crawford, Lindberg, etc... it couldn't be farther from the truth, as all are still in constant contact with the staff and plan to be on campus at different points this Fall.

It’s hard to get a good read on Berry.
Some here say he underperformed and isn’t LSU material, some say he’s a beast.
At this point does anyone here really know? And if so would they let us know.

(I might be the only one on here who has been saying that we are landing him, and from my conversations with him we are in a good position) - give us more details on your conversation please.

I’ll be pissed if we drop Berry and keep Gaye.
Go watch Berry’s highlights if you haven’t yet. A lot better then cam Jackson and Gaye.
Berry probably wouldn’t contribute until his junior and senior seasons, but he has a lot of potential. He would be ranked higher if it wherent for an injury he got at the end of last season

Me- Something about how he should go to LSU
Him- “I know bro I’ve been thinking...” and some other stuff about how coach Mickey has been recruiting him hard

I’d cut Domio from this list & it’s Golden!
Posted on 7/23/19 at 7:21 pm to Joshfire23
At this point I think Domio is a “maybe” dependent on who all wants in the class, how LSU’s incoming db’s look, and which guys they plan on losing prematurely.
Spots are really slim.

Eh, we could use the versatility and experience. But I was just relaying Vol's list.

I really wish we would spend a scholly on a small scatback or sprinter athlete like the 5'6"-5'9" like sub 170lb lightning in a bottle type guys... To return kicks it's nice have a Jarvis Landry/PP/tm7 type back there but other then tm7 I didn't like Landry or pp as much as I enjoyed holiday, green and Dominick Davis with the potential of Xavier carter types during KR and PR. I really felt like that guy that went to tech like last year was going to be the answer for us in the return game but we backed off him... With us being so hurt for big men are we like 2 years away from taking fliers at some of these smaller type speed demons

I finally spent some time watching the highlights of all of our dline recruits. Observations:
Cam Jackson has an OT build with a rangy frame and very good athleticism. I would not like to miss out on this guy.
Berry looks very powerful, but that could be misleading depending on quality of competition. I’ve read that he is very young for his class. If true, that could be a huge factor in how good his prospects are.
Taylor and Jenkins are very athletic. I felt I was watching the same guy at times. Jenkins highlights were funny to watch, because it seemed that 2/3 of the times the olineman barely made contact. Either Jenkins is VERY quick, or some HS olinemen need to be running laps, lol.
I think we have a good dline haul right now, and two excellent oline prospects. Get Roy and our dline goes from good to great. I’d like to see two more oline guys, but one more at least is imperative.

IDK what they are talking about, all I can go by are the highlights I've seen. And according to what I've seen the dude is a beast. Not quite as athletic as Apu was in HS, but damn close. Gets off blocks, has quick feet, from what I've seen he can flat out play.
