Lot of offers out this week. I don't know how to link profiles and film so if someone wants to have at it. Also didn't see a sticky for 19. Ranking are composite position rankings

QB
Paul Tyson AL #8PP
Grahm Mertz KS #9PP (Wisconsin)
David Baldwin FL(IMG/CA) #10 DT

RB
Julius Davis WI #30 (Wisconsin) other than Wisconsin first major offer

WR
Frank Ladson FL #5
Dylan Wright TX #34

OT
Darnell Wright WV #3
Xavier Truss RI #6
John Olmstead NJ #22
Javonne Shepard TX #32

OG
Caeden Wallace NJ #5

SDE
Jaren Handy MS #9

ILB
Zach Edwards MS #9
Kendall McCallum AL #16

OLB
Kwabena Watson CA #77 first major offer

CB
Christian Williams AL #4

ATH
Tyrique Stevenson FL #8(db)
Trent McDuffie CA #18 (cb)

Most offensive guys but spread out pretty much nationwide. Love the high profile OT offers. Strange states with some big time kids this year.

By the way, the Southeast is absolutely loaded. I'm all for instate kids and our state is strong but if in the staff, go after kids throughout the southeast and don't box ourselves in just in the state. Heavy hitters are coming into the state this year so let's go into theirs and make sure we have options everywhere.

Tyson is the great grandson of Bear Bryant, probably all Bama.

Should probably add OOS offers to the title. I thought there was a sticky for overall class prior to signing day but I could be off there.

There are however players listed on the Recruiting Page if you change the year to 2019 instead of default 2018 that is still there.

Thanks for the info.

yes, this is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY in today's recruiting environment. we are surrounded by Herman, Fisher, Saban and Sweeny not to mention Kirby, Mullen and TCU coach. we have not even signed the full 25 the last two years (may not be a negative) but in years that the state of Louisiana is loaded, EVERY TEAM in the nation worth a damn recruits us hard.

Agree about Tyson but I like the offer because if the Tua kids brother. He's supposed to be all Bama as well so maybe they choose not to be in the same class.

I found the RB offer interesting. His only other major offer is Wisconsin and he committed. With the south as strong as it is, and the state, at the position someone must really like this kid. Very interested in his film.
Love the OL offers. Cregg has a great rep and though most are northeast kids who will be tough to pull, have to put ourselves in the conversation. No stone unturned.
Love the MS aggressiveness. Its a loaded defensive class and the 2 state schools are both vulnerable currently. MS is a creepy state for recruiting but they can't all be can they?

I love it when people actually take the time to "hopeful" think things out and they come up with this dribble!!!

In successful business, just like in sports, the smart understand strengths and weaknesses and do there best to play to their strengths and avoid their weaknesses until they can make their weakness and strength. Whether anyone in my great home state of Louisiana understands this or not, LSU is not a national brand. They are a national name but not a national brand. Now in our great state they are a national brand. So play to that strength, and put up a freaking wall around the state. Use one of the biggest tools in a recruiters arsenal and that is HOME pride.

Is recruiting next year in our state going to be tough? Your damn right more than anyone understands. Because not only is our state loaded with national talent next year and we are going to have every boarder state school and then some trying to poach the talent, but more importantly you have some very smart coaches that are fantastic recruiters "Saban & Fisher" that understand exactly what Orgeron could possible accomplish if he can stay head coach at LSU for any length of time. If Orgeron can build that wall around Louisiana that Saban did and Miles did for the first half of his tenure, they know what a sleeping giant LSU is. We just need the right coach at the wheel. And have a home grown coach with LSU ties and Louisiana blood in him behind the wheel could be very deadly for everyone else.

So those boys know Orgeron is a wounded bear right now, and they know if they can poach the state well next year they can further wound that bear so much so he won't survive. So they are going to be coming hard at the instate kids next year for 2 reasons. First the kids are that good and second if they do enough damage to LSU's recruiting next year instate it will be the end of Orgeron at LSU, that plain and simple.

But that is what separates the men from the boys, this is a man's game and we are about to really see what type of man we have at the helm.

But trying to put a lot of emphasis on out of state kids to come here and play for LSU with our track record lately, well how did that work out for us with P Surtain? You don't have to look further than that, because with his Louisiana ties an relationship with Raymond and Surtain Sr. etc.... That is has close as you are going to get to a out of state lock as you can get and guess what? He ain't coming here.

So you are wrong about the need to recruit out of state right now we obviously need to recruit out of state, but more importantly we need to focus as much as possible on instate next year and just man up and beat those two traitorous frickers asses off in recruiting in Louisiana this year. What you have to realize if we can't beat them for instate kids, we have zero shot out of state for the kids we actually want!

So much that could be posted responding but I'll make it to the point.

The point of my statement was this. The Southeast and our surrounding states are loaded. What that means is plenty of top shelf kids to go around. Our state is loaded as well so we already have a good base to start. That said, all the heavy hitters will be in the state trying to steal a kid or two. That means we are gonna lose a couple we want.
Hopefully we can minimize the damage to a few borderline top of the position board guys. For that reason we would be stupid to not put more emphasis OOS. Georgia isn't a national brand either but they cleaned up instate while also not being afraid to extend their reach for kids they felt couldn't be replaced instate. We can carry the same attitude. We've done it throughout this era if LSU recruiting. So why favor the instate kid if an OOS kid is better and you feel you have a shot? That's shortsighted.
The staff already has 12-14 kids that are takes right now in the state(those at the elite Jr day plus a couple). If we lose a couple we want if those then youre looking at 15+ spots to fill. Sure some of those will go to secondary targets instate but why wouldn't you shoot for better prospects before filling up in secondary prospects? Again shortsighted.
I want the best kids we can possibly get. If that means an instate kid gets left out or his feelings hurt, oh well. We got a better prospects. I'm all for controlling the state but we aren't getting back to the elite level we want with 85 LA kids in the roster. No more that 50-55 really.

If we don’t go out and compete for those kids and present yourself as a “national brand” you never will become one. Act like a regional power and you are surely destined to always be nothing more.

If Orgeron is as terrible as the O-Negatives keep screaming, the other coaches might want him to recruit great so he can stay around!

I disagree with you saying LSU isn't a national brand. PP7, TM7, OBJ, LF7, etc has made us a national brand. Plenty of kids around the country love LSU. I know this sounds stupid, but our uniforms help us a little as well. The purple and gold is unique and a little flashy. Kids like that. We are definitely a national brand. 100%.
