Did some investigating on various recruiting sites. Looks good on these prospects.

Patrick Surtain
Tyson Campbell
Andrew Chatfield
Glenn Beal
Cameron Wire
Lawrence Keys
Harold Joiner
Dare Rosenthal
Michael Thompson

Others 50/50
Slade Bolden
Terrace Marshall

Any replies to this list.

It's going to be a wild finish. We need to have a good season. I don't think anyone can predict the finish. I am hoping we have at least 10 wins and a sugar bowl appearance. I think then people will take LSU serious again.

Absolutely agree we almost have to have some on field success if not wins we need to lose in dramatic fashion looking good on offense and as a team in the lose. Like say we lose 2 close games 38-35 to bama then 28-27 to Aub or FL and I really can't see us losing more than 2. We will likely have a couple more close games like Tenn, FL, Aub, or BYU. But losing 3 of those would be a rough season IMO. Of course it could happen but I still don't think it would be a complete failure if it does happen as long as we see some good football when we do lose. I think people would have been ok with Les Miles loses if he would have showed some changes on offense. Thats what cost him IMO. I mean you can't win unless you have all the pieces unless you luck out or play another team missing key pieces as well.

If BYU is a close game we're in for a long season

Marshall should be higher than 50/50

It's the first game but again this isn't Les Miles team and O will probably put an emphasis on having these guys prepared, hitting on all cylinders game 1. If for anything just to show that this LSU regime is much different then the last. BYU isn't a slouch team, they are extremely well coached and disciplined. LSU has tons of new guys so it just will not be a perfect game but I don't see LSU being down for these games anymore either so we'll see.

I disagree that if LSU plays a close game that it has any indication on how the season might go. Now if it's sloppy and close that might be concerning, but if both teams play a good game then it will just be two good teams playing their best. LSU should pull away in a game like this though. It's football and you just never know. Our defense should put more pressure on BYU then they can us so we should pull away in the second half and we may come in to dominate the entire game, TOs could keep any game close. Limit that and penalties then we should be fine.

One thing is certain, I'm more excited about this upcoming year to see change then I have been in quite sometime. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way either. GT
