Williams and White are head scratchers to me particularly for 1st line offers. I need to go look at more film of those 2. Didn't see those coming at all. Don't really think anyone saw those 2 coming.

Both were said to be shocked at getting offered. I think the staff offers some of these guys way to early before they get a feel on bigger fish. Not saying these guys wont become great players but we just had an unreal season minus the title game and should really try to get some top tier guys from OOS.

My issue isn't the oos kids it's the other 10 or so kids instate that are 1st offer type talents. I love our instate kids but I just haven't seen anything on film of Williams and White that would lead to them being offered over some of the others. I'll withhold judgment until everything comes out later. I know some kids didn't make it in but plenty are there that I saw as better candidates for offers at this point. I'll find more film if it's out there.

Some weird offers. We offered no one I thought we would (except Diarse) and we offered some under the radar guys.

They were probably too shocked to even commit. I hope the staff at least targets some big names. I am sick of them just settling and then trying to get back at the end.

I wouldnt worry. LSU will defiantly be in it for some big names. Ive learned not to doubt this staffs ability to evaluate unheralded recruits.

I agree. The only thing that happened today that was expected was the Diarse offer. I'm really puzzled to be honest. I usually have a good read on what kids are looking at offers and I totally missed on this occasion. None of the kids that should be offered imo were besides the obvious one in Diarse to add to the others that already had them.

Our offers thus far

Kendall Beckwith DE
Ricky Jefferson CB/WR
Desean Smith TE
Jeryl Brazil CB/WR commit
John Diarse S/WR
T. White WR/CB
Tim Williams DE

Ellis and Dobard didn't make it in so they couldn't be offered
Santa-Marina was expected to be offered but wasn't
Ronald Lewis no offer
Raheem Falkins no offer and was on the list of guys expected to be
Darian Claiborne no offer
Melvin Jones no offer
Xavier Woods no offer but Cooper does like to see kids at camp before offering
Carlton Perkins no offer

I don't get why some of these kids weren't offered. On film they are all better than the 2 unexpected offers today. I trust the coaches and maybe they've got different film than what's out publicly. I hope White and Williams commit sooner rather than later and become great Tigers but I'm suprised.

Just for info's sake and I don't think these were factors

White is Mo Claiborne's god brother
Williams goes to U-High. Miles has seen him a lot.

they probably have to do this because there aren't a lot of recruiters on this staff so until they get a recruiter expect more of the same. Only so many places your top recruiter can be

That is why we need a top notch recruiter to pair with Wilson. I wouldn't be against bringing Porter back or maybe Les can find a new guy.

Every big time schools has multiple good recruiters on their staffs except us. This is why we are struggling mightily oos.

Ensminger is a complete waste. I do not understand why he is on the staff but I dont think Les will ever get rid of him.

Well we definitely know he has the grades.

Brick and Coop are damn good recruiters and their are few coaches who can close with mom and dad like Les. I understand what you are getting at about needing another Wilson but those type of super recruiters dont grow on trees.

And I dont understand why you think we are struggling out of state. We are in the top 3 and 2 for two out of state 5*.

I coached against T.White. He's a GREAT kid and a hell of an athlete. I'd think he'll be playing DB in college, he can fly.

I haven't seen Coop get any recruit.
I agree Brick is probably the 2nd best recruiter on the staff but he hasn't gotten anyone either. He always seems to go after a couple DL but never gets them.

Porter is a super recruiter but I would be happy with a decent recruiter added. Someone with connections to either Florida or Texas.

You can't compare the two. TM7 was a camp offer. These guys have not been at camp and have been offered based on game performance/film.

I trust the coaches when it comes to in state but the offers are still a little perplexing.

I was hoping we would be more selective and go after more elite talents to maximize on our on field succes.

David Jenkins was a pretty good pickup last year. Might start next year at one of the DB spots or in the nickel/dime formations.

Sam Montgomrery would be the most notable.
