Jalen Mills' #6 DeSoto Eagles continued to roll this week beating #7 Cedar Hill 45-13. I haven't been able to find any defensive stats from the game but I did see the team had three interceptions.

Jalen Mills' DeSoto team continues to kick some serious tail. They beat Stony Point, a team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year, 42-7.
DeSoto is up to #3 in 5A behind Allen and Euless Trinity. DFW Football is kicking the rest of the state's butt. Southlake Carroll is #6, Skyline is #7, Coppell is #8, Longview is #9 and Arlington Martin is #10.
Here's another picture of Mills in action against Stony Point:

What's the feeling on Mills? Potential Wise?

I think he's another really good athlete that Coach Cooper can develop into an SEC cover corner.
He's playing a lot of man-to-man defense already at Desoto. From what I've seen he can stay with some of the top high school receivers out here. He gets tested because their other corner, Echols, is more well-known. I hadn't really heard about Mills before the LSU camp. He was at 4A Lancaster last season when he made one all district team. I have been impressed with him so far.

Looking at his measurable's, he looks like the right fit for that blitzing nickel back off the edge. I was surprised by this commitment to tell you the truth because of guys like Howard still out there with LSU on their radar. Its tough to get a read on him because that their D is so good and it makes them all look better.
Also, do you have any updates on D. Hunter? Been awhile since I heard anything on him besides him getting hosed by not getting his 4th star. TIA

Haven't seen anything on Hunter. His team is just the opposite of DeSoto and right there in the same town with Katy High. The powers that be will keep that program down to keep Katy up. Hunter will have to learn how to win once he gets to LSU.
He got a fourth star on Scout. They have him ranked as the 27th best DE, one place behind Denzel Devall.
Edited to add:
Found Katy Morton Ranch on the H.Chronicle website.
No defensive stats but he's playing tight end and caught a 27 yard TD last week. Hunter had two catches for 34 yards.
Link to Morton Ranch schedule. You can click on the box scores for each game to see if he did anything.

Yeah GA, we need less guys like you who spend a great amount of time educating the board about recruits and more guys that contribute the realness like tiger ice.
Yeah, excuse me for expecting a pinned post to be updated in a timely manner. I know, I know, I'm being very unrealistic to expect updated posts within a week of the announcement. I guess as long as it's before signing day I should be happy.
Wish I lived in the world you live in. ...and by the way, 0bama won!

how does this class compare to past classes?

good, but not great.
some recent classes had two or three five stars.
one class a few years ago had several more four stars than this year.
this class is going to be top 10. to be top five will need that icing on the cake, a five star or two, say collins or Dorial Beckham Green. or Gunner and a 4 star safety from Florida who still has LSU on his short list (waiting to see what Collins does, one may surmise).
note that most of the others ahead of LSU in rivals have a five star guy or TWO.
not that five star guys ALWAYS pan out, but some do.

Didnt realize John Thomas was as highly ranked as he is. AHS up in here. Maybe he be the tightend to actually catch a few passes. We have had some studly tightends just not do much. No doubt Peterson is a beast but he just doesnt get the ball much.

So who are we going to finish with in this class? Anyone have any links to the expert predictions of who we are going to get?

Not to sounds ungreatful for this awesome and informative thread, but is there any way the OP could be updated to include these guys HS and star ranking?
