Why is it, only during hurricane press conferences or public addresses, from public officials, do you see the speaker standing at the podium with their posse standing closely in the rear?

Gotta be seen.

Why do they have the sign language people during emergencies? Do closed caption TVs not exist during storms? And who in the hell can keep up with Jindal? That guy deserves a raise.

I was at a press conference two weeks ago with a "posse" behind the speaker and it had nothing to do with a hurricane.

Some of it is grandstanding, but in the case of a storm most people there are answering questions by media related to their specific department.

Ha ha...bet the guy gets hand and arm cramps for weeks following Jindal's addresses.

Maybe it is part of BHO's unemployment efforts by mandating sign language people be present?
