Zucchini and Squash Pollination Question

Got limited garden space and this year wanted to get away with one zucchini plant and one straight neck yellow squash plant. I normally do two of each but want to use the space for other plants this time.
Will a single zucchini plant and yellow squash plant pollenate each other (naturally with bees of course)? Will I get some cross breed result or normal results?
Thanks in advance.

Squash plants do not need other squash plants for cross pollination as each squash plant produces male and female flowers, so just one plant of each is fine.

Thanks. Now I feel like an idiot for asking. At least I leaned something today. Thanks again.

Vegetable plants in general don’t need multiple plants for cross pollination - can’t think of any off-hand that do - but a fair number of fruit trees, not all of course, often do need different varieties (cultivars) for cross pollination to bear fruit, or at least to produce heavy fruit crops.

I've got the room to grow squash, but every time I do I lose them to squash vine borers right after the first squash are produced. No matter what I do to prevent them, they will kill the plants-----and I love grilled squash and to use them in soups.
