My palisades zoysia was looking pretty good a week ago but the past couple of days there has been a large yellowish spot form in the lowest area. I’ve fertilized with a 19-5-9 based off soil test a few weeks ago at 1/2 pound of N. Any ideas what could be going on?

Not an insect and almost no chance of a fungus. Has it been watered more than normal and did you just mow.

I haven’t turned sprinklers on all year but there has been a lot of rain the past few weeks. I reel mowed on Sunday morning as I have been the past few weeks. Trying to think what changed?

Yes. Trying to think of anything that could cause stress. It has an appearance of too much leaf blade being cut off but a reel mower wouldn’t do that. Any spots on the leaf?

It’s really early for zoysia mites but google that and see if that’s what you are seeing.

I did check and the soil is very compacted. I could barely get a screwdriver in it and the other parts of the lawn were not as bad. I aerated last year but looks like I need to do it again.

Could it be powdery mildew? Fungus. Thought that hit cold season grass mostly.

Glad this was bumped. If it’s rock hard time the number of hours water sits there after the next rain.

It’s the weirdest thing, I’m actually seeing some green pop out of it now.

My back yard is looking similar. Very yellow and looks like the grass is just runners in some areas. Going to start watering often and see if that does anything. It’s a pretty high traffic area where the kids and dog run around a lot
